October 2020 weddings - What else is there to do?!

Hailey, on June 27, 2019 at 2:45 PM Posted in Planning 2 8

Hey ladies! Anyone else get the "big stuff" done and now they feel as if there's SO much left to do, but don't know where to start?! Yup, I am in that boat. Photographer booked, hair/makeup booked (including trials), engagement photos booked, ceremony booked, rentals booked, venue booked (caters and provides booze), rings bought, bridal party picked, appointments to choose dress is booked, Groomsmen and bridesmaids attire picked, guest list is DONE, MOG is doing flowers, registry done, wedding website done, and we are waiting for engagement photos before we send out any STD .. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO?!

Way to be on top of it! That's how I was, our engagement will be 19 months total (only a few weeks left now). Have you look at caterers, DJ, florist, baker, videographer, professional transportation, day of coordinator? Those are some other big vendors. Have you looked at dresses online? Thought about your honeymoon? Looked at hotels in the area, for blocks?

Kelly, I feel the struggle. Ugh. I have SUCH mixed feelings about the DOC! Is it really worth it?? We have a lot of family and friends who have stepped up to help out. If that will actually happen, who knows. But I feel like it can't be too difficult to set up/tear down, right?

I think it all depends on your situation. My venue has a very strict timeline for setup. I'll have 2.5 hours to get everthing up. But the venue is also very intimate (read: very small) so we will not have a cocktail hour (no room!) so pictures will be before the ceremony. We need a DOC to do the set up for us. Also, our guest list is 90% close family and we want them to enjoy the day, not work.
But I'm also an Oct 2020 bride and we have a venue booked, photographer booked, photobooth booked, engagement pictures done, STDs and invites ordered, flowers done, caterer/alcohol in the works, and rentals are getting done next month.

You're on top of that!!! So We have our venue booked (ceremony & reception will be there), got our photographer, DJ, hair, I'm emailing makeup artists now. In a few weeks my sister and i should be going out and trying to find the bridesmaids attire. FH will need to pic out his attire along with the groomsmen. We're trying to think of when we want to do engagement pictures either now meaning summer or Fall. Then that will help for save the dates and get them ordered. Flowers i need to get my crap together cuz I'm literally stuck on what I want. Also an officiant too .

I'm Oct 2020 too! I've got venue, photog, videog, caterer, hmu, my dress, dj, linens, centerpiece decor (got it on a good sale!). My goal is have 100% vendors done by the end of this year. I think the florist is next, I'm getting together my list of people/things who need flowers. I just need to see what kind of flowers I want. Then I need to do a cake (which I'm thinking publix because we are just having a small cutting cake and everyone else is getting donuts and ice cream).

I hate that some stuff is like "hurry up and wait". I want to book everything now but I can't really go buy ice cream right now hahahaha. Some stuff will just have to wait until it's pretty close.

I think I'm going to start buying cute little gifts for the bridesmaids so that by the time the wedding is here, I have a tote bag of stuff for them and I didn't spend all the money at once.

October 10, 2020 we have the majority of the big stuff done: venue, caterer, DJ, cake, I need to send my deposit for the DOC and photographer, but they both already saved our date. We are doing our engagement shoot in March so I can send my STD's in April and I will also be getting my dress in March. I have like 35-40lbs I want to loose. I have already bought gifts for the wedding party. I just need to do FG, RB, and parents. Our guest list is done have all but 2 addresses out of 145

October 10, 2020. We have the venue booked for the reception and for the ceremony. We also have our DJ and our person for our cake. Our venue for our reception is also our caterer (saving lots of money this way). My FMIL works part time at Steins and she has a few friends who work there and they are making all of the bouquets and boutonnieres. Almost all of the decorations are going to be DIY. Starting dress shopping next month along with our engagement photo shoot is next month as well.
