nyc wedding in September

Jay2020, on July 30, 2019 at 8:57 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 5
Hi all,

Planning my September 2020 wedding in NYC, I’m continually going back and forth between 9/19 and 9/26. I’d love to have the least possible humidity (9/26) during the day, but my reception dinner is outside, so don’t wanna risk it being too cool.

1. Am I nuts? I know these dates are only 7 days apart
2. If you read “September 19th NYC wedding” would you immediately think “HOT”?

With global warming, I don’t know what to think anymore... sigh.

There is absolutely no way to predict which date will have the 'least' humidity. Weather is fickle.

My niece planned her wedding for the first weekend in October, expecting a relatively cooler day and comfortable weather. It was 90 degrees at 5pm for her outdoor ceremony - everyone was sweating bullets.

Hey there!! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

As the pp mentioned, there is no way that you will be able to predict what the weather will be like in a years time. Have you looked into venues yet? Perhaps you could inquire with some that you are interested in and find out what they available dates are. It may be helpful for you to have a little wiggle room when booking your venue.

Since your reception will be outside, you will just have to take some precautions to ensure that all of your guests are comfortable, such as blankets if it's chilly, or fans if it’s very humid.

Yes! I have my venue, it’s open both days. I’m signing the paperwork tomorrow, so crunch time decisions Smiley winking.

Youre right, nothing a few fans won’t fix. Plus, dancing is inside (in air-con, if needed!)
