NWR. sick after a deep tissue massage???

Miranda, on May 25, 2010 at 4:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I went and got a deep tissue massage today and not even one hour later I began throwing up this green liquid. Does anyone know what this could be or anything???

Green liquid would be bile. Call your doctor.

Did you drink a lot of water after the massage? Your massage therapist should have recommended this at the very least, if they did not provide you with any. Any massage, especially deep tissue, works a lot of toxins out of the muscles. You can experience flu-like symptoms if you do not drink a lot of fluid to help your system flush all that stuff out.

Yeah I'd call and check with a dr...it does sound like stomach bile.

That is actually kind of normal after a deep tissue massage, particularly if you had severe knots and such. My friend used to get sick after almost every massage, even with drinking a ton of water. But you should still check with your doctor if it's never happened to you before, since every person is different.

Definitely call the doc!! However, after I've gotten massages I've been told to drink a lot of water because it releases all the toxins from your body. But, puking after a massage is definitely not good!

Ryan is right. I'm not saying don't call your doctor, but A LOT of people throw up after deep tissue massages. Me included.

A lot of "professionals" that should be taking precautions to avoid spreading bacteria actually don't ever think about those precautions at all. If you didn't watch your massage therapist wash their hands thoroughly and use brand new items for any extra massaging utensils, I'd say there's a good chance they could have spread something..

GO to the doctor.. don't risk chalking it up to your body releasing toxins.
