We were invited to a self hosted, 29th birthday at the couples home this weekend. It was a FB invite, very casual... Singlet and thongs kind of event.

Yesterday, I get a post notification from the birthday boys fiance saying: "Can you please bring cash as gifts, to help us finish our car modifications. Please dont bring alcohol as gifts as it will not get used. Thanks".

Ummm... WHAT?! Firstly, you're an adult. Do not expect gifts from anyone. Secondly, do not TELL me what I can bring, if I happen to choose to bring a gift!

Today, I get another post notification in the event.... "Remember guys, it's BYO alcohol and please bring money for pizza!"

What would you do? Would you bring "cash" as they so bluntly put it? I was going to get a nice bottle of wine and a card, now I'm considering skipping the gift all together!

    @GymRat you kill me LOL!

    The good friends we're seeing have moved out of town and we all have very busy schedules. It's a miracle they're even coming, so I'm excited to see them. We might just see if they can come out with us the next day for lunch instead.

    Love the money holder card with no money idea.... @Richards idea too! So much petty AND I LOVE IT!

    Note: Singlet and thongs... Australian equivalent of a "tank" and "flip flops"? I think haha
