NWR _ Freaky - Nose bleed

I have low bp, thank goodness. think itsstopping....finally. that was weird

Dry air is the main culprit. i used to get them all the time and a humidifier is the magic trick.

Thanks guys - could be flying this weekend and low humidity which is unusual here. i'll get out the humidifier

@Sharon, I have them every now and then. One Dr says stress and the other says dry I air. I say all navy DRs suck so I still dnt know. lol. Let us know if the humidifier helps :-)

Lol @Teresa. Well it's 2am and my 3rd one of the evening just woke me up. this is getting bloody annoying.

Sharon, if you've had three nosebleeds in such succession, I'd consider making a doctor's appointment. I've gotten nosebleeds from dry air before, but I KNOW it's from dry air cause my sinuses get super dry. Then I'll get a little nosebleed, and it's over. What you're describing seems like something a little more than that. =0(

Could be a broken blood vessel.. I would suggest you don't lean your head BACK esp. if you're bleeding a lot, my doctor told me it's a good way to end up with blood running down your throat from your sinuses! I know you probably already know this but, feel along your nose.. just before your nostrils is where the boney area is, press tightly there and lean forward slightly.

I would definitely call your doc.. just to be safe

Hahaha. I'm a medical transcriptionist. I know what an ENT is. I just haven't slept since...oh crap, what day is it? I woke up Thursday at about 2PM. Please excuse my nerddom. =0)

Have had 5 of them since 8pm last night, last one about 2 hours ago. So yep, off the Dr's, think i may need a blood vessel cauterized...fun eh?

Dry air, I get them frequently in the winter..I suggest a cool air humidifier..

I had the humidifier on last night, but the nurse said 5 in a few hours is a bit much, so Rick is making me go in. it was like a war zone in the kitchen this am, laugh..didn't realize I dripped everywhere.
