Number of bridesmaids and groomsmen

We have decided on 3 on each side though I changed my mind a couple times. I knew I wanted the bridal party to walk in pairs so that meant we would need the same number on each side. I was tempted to have four on each side because as I was looking at photo inspiration, I liked the symmetry that an even number created. There's some great photos of brides in the middle of bridesmaids. But at the final decision, there were only three women that I truly want by my side that day.

Matron of Honor, Maid of Honor, 4 Bridesmaids, and a Jr Bridesmaid

We have 5 on each side. I'm not sure I could handle any bigger.

To decide if its too big I would look at your total guest count. If your entire guest list is 30 people, it may look strange to have half of them standing up there with you. Also keep in mind that not every single one of your friends needs to be in your bridal party. Its okay to have some be guests.
