Not so grand exit?

I know a lot of people do big exits at the end of the reception with sparklers or whatever. Has anyone not done a grand exit? I kind of just want to leave...my mom even suggested changing out of my dress before we leave (we're spending our wedding night at a b&b). If we don't do some sort of exit,...

If we don't do some sort of exit, do I need to let everyone know that we're leaving? What have people done in the past?

I don't want to leave before my guests do, so we won't have one.

@Jessica my venue coordinator suggested that lol since I only have 4 hours with my photographer. But It seems awkward...like it would be silly and forced. How are you going about announcing it and transitioning so that it isn't awkward?

We didn't do an exit since we were staying at the host hotel where the reception was held, so we had a last dance instead. That was the cue that after the dance, we would be leaving the ballroom and heading up to our room. People surrounded us for our last dance and afterwards, everyone started heading out to their own rooms (90% of our guests stayed at the same hotel) or they went to the bars on the strip, not really sure. lol

We didn't do one. We rented out a tap house to keep the party going.

Totally personal preference I wouldn't just peace out but at least have an announcement to say a final thank you and goodbye

In New Orleans your grand exit is a second line with second line band, so we will be doing that at the end with everyone.

We're not doing anything fancy. We'll leave on the last shuttle bus to the hotel with whoever else is on it.

We didn't do one. We had to stay and break down the room. So not glamorous but we got it done super fast and then just left.

We are doing one as we leave the church from the ceremony so that we can get the pictures. Then everyone will proceed to the reception site which is down the street.

I think doing a "grand exit" to signal the end of the night is a good idea. Right after last song. Then we plan to turn back around and go inside to gather up our things and say goodbyes.

We are not doing a big exit we are riding trolley back with all guests to local hotel. I went to a wedding with sparkler send off it was cute but a lot of work for guests to have to focus on that at the end of the night of drinking / dancing....

We are not doing a grand exit. I actually rarely see them. The wedding ends at 11 and we'll be leaving along with everyone else. Might have the DJ announce a last song and we'll probably just say one more thank you and that's it.

I'm not a fan of grand exits, we'll just be leaving when it's time. More than half of our guest list is coming from out of state so I'm going to try to stay until the end, but I'm typing this sitting outside of a restaurant where we just had brunch with friends because I hit my wall for being social.

I'm thinking about slipping out side with bridal party to take a few pics with some sparklers. Then going back inside to the party and other guest.

So glad this become a topic! My FH and I are both quiet people and did not want to do anything fancy or to draw any more attention to ourselves lol. So happy to hear that a lot of people do not do these. We plan to stay until the end of the reception with any guests who are left.

I also think it's rude when the couple leaves before the reception is over. You're the hosts! And dished out all the money for this party, why leave just to call it a grand exit? Just have the dj play a last song.

We aren't doing anything. We will stay until the very end of the reception (midnight) and help clean up a few things. Where I am from no one really does the grand exit thing.
