Nordstrom wedding suite closed

Anna, on December 30, 2020 at 2:35 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Wedding date set for Sept 18, 2021. I was hoping to find a dress at Nordstrom wedding suite but they closed! I live in northern VA. Any recommendations to look for dresses?

    I have family in Alexandria!
I recommend trying David's bridal or BHLDN.

I'm not sure it's still open, but there is a FB page for an online store called A Vintage Wedding Two ( Too) located in VA that sells gorgeous vintage gowns.

Thanks everyone! Will check it out! How long does it normally take to buy a dress and get it after alterations are done?

It normally can take everywhere from like 5-9 months for you to receive the dress and every store has it's own alteration schedule. I know I bought a dress in September and the dress came in December which was considered a fast turnaround time. I also got married pre-Covid so with Covid the timeframe could be longer. I had three alteration appointments and they were done as the wedding got closer. The dress stayed at the shop until the final alterations were done about two weeks prior to the wedding.

My husband’s family is from Alexandria, and my sister-in-law got her dress from the Bridal Room in McLean!

I’m in northern VA too and I tried on almost 50 dresses prior to choosing one. I would suggest you do a google search for the bridal salons in old town Alexandria. My two friends got their dresses from there too. Ellie’s is good, and they have like 5 others all along king and queen street I believe but do require an appointment. The bridal room is worth the experience thats in McLean. I would also check our bridal salons in DC proper but some of them like ones in Georgetown have like a $3k minimum. I suggest you also subscribe / follow Washingtonian weddings as they have lists of bridal salons as well. I did go to Nordstrom’s bridal before it closed and the attendant referred me to bridal boutiques in Alexandria , Georgetown or DC proper due to the vast options. So don’t worry, you aren’t missing out on Nordstrom’s! Good luck xx

Try David Bridal, Azazie, JJHouse or a local Boutique in your area...

I got my dress at Ellies Bridal in Alexandria!! It was a great experience. I also tried on dresses at Love Couture in Maryland, which had a big selection.

I’m in Northern VA and got my dress at Rosalin’s Bridal Boutique in Falls Church. I went to several other stores but had an unparalleled experience with them. A few of the stores I went to asked for Pinterest boards in advance but Rosalin’s actually looked at that and pulled dresses based on that in advance of my arrival. The dress I chose ended up being one I hadn’t pinned but they pre-pulled and it’s beyond perfect. The women there are just fantastic too. I plan on using them for alterations as well.
