Non-floral Centerpieces

Looking for inspiration for centerpieces! My fiance does not want to do floral centerpieces. Anyone have any fun/creative ideas, or did anyone else do non-floral centerpieces? Would love to see what everyone comes up with!

Thank you! Ah, we only had 15 guests and no dancing. They burned all reception.

Tall open flames is a concern! Maybe one pillar candle, or a lantern that you can use an LED candle for extra safety (and long lasting). Like these:

We're doing wine glasses with black sand, ribbons, and candles inside. We're also going to make the Table Symbols larger and somewhat of a center piece.

I'm in love with the gold trimmed terrariums, personally! I bought mine from Michael's one at a time (thank heavens it's a small wedding!) with their 50% off coupons, which made them around $8 a piece (not too terrible, & they will make great gifts afterwards for our family members). We put miss in the bottoms & added our favorite Funko Pop couples (one character in each). We alternate those with 7" & 10" cylinder vases filled with gold or silver D&D dice (my fiance & our kids are gamers) & water, topped with a floating white candle. Kinda goofy, kinda fun, definitely us. I suggest making your centerpieces reflect something about your relationship or your personalities- personalize it to you!

Good to know!! I got a few other wedding things from the Dollar Tree, but hadn't thought of candles. Did not know they had LED candles, thank you for the idea!

This is a really cute idea!! My fiance would probably actually really like this one, he's a huge fan of pineapples for that reason (symbol of hospitality), and we have a few pineapple-themed decorations that we bring with us when we go camping or travel. Very clever idea, I like how you incorporated things that are important to you in the centerpiece! Thank you for sharing!

That sounds so pretty!! I especially like how the candles would be inside the wine glass instead of around, it makes it unique. And sand is a clever idea too, I like that it can be found in lots of colors. Thank you for sharing your idea!

I had to go look up what a terrarium was, since I hadn't heard of it before you mentioned it - those are beautiful!! And definitely not a bad price per centerpiece, and a good gift to give away afterwards! I love how you are incorporating your personalities and interests into them! Whatever centerpiece we go with, we are planning to put our own little twists on it to make it personalized to us. Thank you for sharing your idea!

Thanks! We figured everyone loves bread, and if you're shy you can just sit there and nibble. 😂

We used big lanterns at our ceremony venue. They were $20 each at Big Lots (occasionally they have a 50% off sale). Our pic:

If you did a lantern theme you could use at your ceremony, as centerpieces, and as bridesmaids bouquets (small ones are usually $5-$7, cheaper than flowers!).

There are so many alternative options! I see you're getting married in summer, so you can certainly play off the season. Here's a few fun, beautiful ideas I found. Bowls of fruit could look nice (fake or real if you wanted). Greenery is always nice, no matter what time of year! Lanterns look great. Candles are always an option and they can be inexpensive. do you have a theme? Or what are your colors? What does your venue look like?

I love the idea of reusing the ceremony decorations for the reception! Cost efficient, too! Would also save money on bouquets/flowers. Great suggestion!!

A few people have suggested candles and lanterns, and I'm really liking the ideas! The greenery you mentioned is pretty, I feel like that can be combined with the candles or lanterns, and it would look awesome. The bowls of fruit is an interesting idea, I'll have to ask my fiance for his opinion on that too!

We don't really have an official theme, but a lot of our decorations and miscellaneous items (guest book, escort cards, etc) are all a forest theme, and our venue kind of plays into that as well. The ceremony location is all tall trees with a view of a lake, and the reception space has a woodsy cabin feel with a fireplace (hello, smores bar!), indoor/outdoor space, and surrounded by trees. Our colors are cerulean blue, sparkly silver, and white. We were originally supposed to have our wedding July 31, 2020, so we had pretty much everything planned except the centerpieces, but thanks to COVID, we had to postpone two years out. So I figured I'd get some inspiration for the last remaining thing we have to plan. Thank you so much to you and everyone else who shared ideas on this thread for the suggestions!!

The options are unlimited. You can be as creative as possible. Have you chosen a theme? colors yet that might help sway you for centerpiece ideas.

Hope these help to inspire you.

We had a Harry Potter inspired wedding so these were our centerpieces. I knew it couldn't be florals, it had to be moss.

These are super pretty, thank you for the suggestions! I especially like the one with the twigs and candles. We don't have an official theme, though we noticed that many of the items we've purchased (guest book, escort cards, etc) have followed a forest theme, so the twigs would be a cute addition to a centerpiece for this theme!
