Noah's Event Venue

DeJohnna, on April 7, 2017 at 4:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Has anyone had any experience with Noah's Event Venue in Chesapeake, VA? I booked them as my venue but have not been given the opportunity to tour the building. (I toured the one in North Carolina before booking because they said it would look similar. We took a chance with it because we got a lot for what they offer.) I found out that caterers and other brides have made appointments, but I have been told the building isn't ready yet. ??

When you say booked, are you "penciled in" or did you sign a legitimate contract? I would get in contact with their event coordinator ASAP. I don't believe they should have allowed you to book without a tour, especially if you wanted one. I haven't been there so I can't provide feedback in that sense. Why isn't the building ready? Are they renovating?

I thought about booking them also, but sadly did not. I've never been so this is probably less than helpful lol. I didn't like the time constraints and getting ready room availability, but those rooms and that ceiling decor oh my, that's what made look at them in the first place. Good Luck to you!

Racchie, it's a new construction. I was told it would be finished by April 1st then April 15th. I was suppose to be invited to a "pre-opening event" since we are one of the couples who have signed and paid in full for the venue. I was told March 24th was the date for that but I haven't heard anything. Smiley sad

Oh no ): I would make calls like crazy to the venue, just to make sure you're protected! Did the contract list any contingencies to make sure you would get your money back if there was an issue?

Racchie, we would get everything back except the deposit I believe.

April of this year- or 2018?

because construction almost always runs late- there is 100% no way I would book an April event for a job that was supposed to be done THAT month.

Sara, I have driven to the building multiple times in its building phase and it looks basically done. I'm just wondering if others have been denied an appointment. Smiley sad

JoRocka, my wedding is April 2018. But I've been told there is a wedding there in April 21st and the supposed opening is next Friday.

That's good you'll at least get the bulk of your money back! The situation does stink though ): good news is you have time! I would keep trying to contact, but maybe give yourself a timeline. Like if they keep denying you an appointment, or not communicating, I would cancel and find another venue. My biggest question would be why are others getting appointments, when you're not? It's hard (at least for me) to be assertive sometimes but a lot of effort and time goes into planning a wedding and you deserve to feel confident in your plans. You got this girl!

Noahs and "get a lot for what they offer" do not belong in the same sentence lol. I toured one of their Utah facilities and just felt like they nickled and dimed me for everything, so I went with another venue that included everything i needed for a third of the price of Noahs.

They seem to have good service overall though...just a lot of restrictions. I'm sure you'll be fine...they're an established company that knows what they are doing.
