No Wifi at Venue?

Lynn, on January 25, 2020 at 12:50 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 19

My favorite venue is a barn a little out in the country. They don't provide wifi.

Is that a deal-breaker or something that I should concern myself with? Will most guests just use cellular data?

It will be fine. I wouldn’t let wifi dictate my venue choice. Plus they shouldn’t spend much time on their phones at your wedding anyway.

As a wedding guest, I've never thought about wifi. The only thing I would think is if the DJ may need it or something.

I don’t think it even occurred to me to ask if our venue had wifi. Out of habit if I’m going somewhere as a visitor I’ll check to see if there’s wifi, but it’s not a problem if there isn’t. I certainly wouldn’t call it a dealbreaker.

All my friends generally use cellular, but someone recently mentioned to me that many people use wifi instead of cellular, so that may be a little concerned about the lack of wifi at the venue.

I wouldn’t worry about it honesty. Go with a venue because you love it and don’t worry about the WiFi

As a wedding guest, I've literally never checked to see if there was wifi.

As far as guests, wifi shouldn't matter. The only issue that may come up is if you have a DJ that uses it with an online storage for music. I don't know how they operate so maybe just double check!

Just make sure none of your vendors will need it. Worst case, you can get a hotspot. I wouldn’t worry about it too much though.

I wouldn't worry too much about WiFi unless a specific vendor requires it. Even then, surely they could use hotspot like Meghan above suggested.

I think it'll be fine and you shouldn't concern yourself with it. My FH and I's venue does not provide wifi either and I love that. For those who have unlimited data, they'll be fine, but for our guests who may not, it'll force them to keep their phones away and enjoy the day with my FH and I.

I think that's fine. My venue didn't have WiFi and the cell service wasn't amazing either. But that's the point of being at a wedding - to be present.

Whoa no. My guests don’t need wifi at my wedding. Get off your phones. Enjoy the moment. Upload your photos after you’re home.

I’ve never considered even seeking out WiFi at a wedding. I can’t imagine feeling the need for it.

For what it’s worth, our wedding was at a private home. The concept of WiFi never came up. Not a single vendor asked about it, and we didn’t give the password to anyone. All went swimmingly, everyone enjoyed their time!

As a guest, I don’t think I would have even checked for WiFi! That definitely shouldn’t sway your decision one way or another about the venue.

Our venue had the WORST wifi and no cell service. It didn't change anything. We did alert people on our website & details card though just so they knew for GPS.

The only thing I would worry about is DJ. Some need wifi. People should be dancing and having conversations, not on their phones.

I can't imagine why that would be a concern.
