No one to walk me down the aisle

Didn't grow up with dad , don't get along with step dad so right now I have no idea who will be walking me down the aisle. Who's walking you down the aisle?

My uncle is walking me because he is like a dad to me. But if I didn't have anyone I would walk myself.

@OHP is totally spot-on: do whatever feels right for you! If you and your mom are close, ask her. If you have a good friend or extended family member who's been by your side than ask them. If it's important to you to have someone walk you down or you not be alone, you can also ask that FH walk with you and you enter the ceremony together.

You can always walk yourself down the aisle, too--this walk is for you, showing how you're leaving your individual life and choosing to begin a partnership with your intended. My good friend walked by herself down the aisle and was met half-way by her mom, who raised and supported her on her own for years. It was sweet but also reflected the love and respect they had for one another.

    ETA: Words are hard, guys...

My uncle, but I'm equally prepared to walk myself down.

My father has passed, so I will be walking on my own. My FH asked me if I wanted my friend to walk me, but I think I would rather walk on my own.

My father passed away. And I don't get along with my stepdad either. I'm having my older brother wall me down the aisle.

Why not your mother? The origins of a male family member walking the bride down the aisle and "giving her away" to the groom are archaic and sexist.

Choose a person you're close to, or walk yourself, walk with your husband - which is common in some countries, or have your husband meet you halfway.

P.S. I first started singing at weddings 15 years ago and far less than 50% of the brides have just a male relative walk with them.

I'm honestly considering just walking myself down the aisle. I'd like my father to walk me but his knees are bad and walking any kind of distance is difficult even with a can or walker so I'm worried it'll be too much on him physically. I haven't decided for sure yet though.

I'm walking myself. My father used to beat the snot out of me on a regular basis and he does not get to touch me or have any rights to me now that I'm a grown-ass adult. The thought of him "giving me away" makes me actually feel a little ill.

I'm having both my mom and dad walk me down the aisle. I am very close with both of them and it felt weird to leave my mom out of it.

I've seen brides walk down with their mother, brother or by themselves.

You can have your Mom or a sibling walk you down the aisle or you can fly solo. Just because tradition has a father figure walking down the bride, doesn't mean you need to follow the tradition. Change things up to fit your wedding Smiley smile

At first I was going to walk myself, but now I think I'm going to have my FH meet me half way.
