No dance floor at nj venue

Kate, on February 3, 2021 at 10:25 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 5
Wedding was postponed from 9/12/20 to 6/26/21 and just found out today our venue will not allow dance floor (as of now). Is it just me or has there been weddings since the fall that have included dancing...ive seen videos all over social media. so over the wedding planning at this point. A wedding without a dance floor sounds like an overpriced dinner party...not what we signed up for. Our venue won’t give us our deposit back, we have the option to postpone to a later date but we don’t want to do that. We just want to be married since we now have a longer engagement than we planned for (will be two years).

Any other NJ brides in similar situations.

Not from NJ but that will most likely be our case as well for May 22, 2021 in MN. Of course we want to dance with all our friends and family, we hired a band and had all these preconceived ideas of what an epic dance party our wedding would have.

We (I) cried about it for several days but after talking with other vendors we will probably host Trivia, Karaoke, other fun games/activities to participate in instead of the typical post dinner reception dancing.

We have already postponed - I need my headspace back and want this wedding to happen regardless. I am too over planning this never ending event. Good luck to you!

NJ bride here. I know someone who had a Halloween wedding and definitely had dancing.

My 2 year engagement has turned into 3 and I'm like you-- where I don't want to postpone again but dancing was one of the parts I was looking forward to .
Not really sure what to do.

So for our venue they said no dance floor but they allowed dancing still. They mentioned that they couldn't put the actual dance floor down, but we could leave space on the carpet if we wanted for dancing which we didn't mind. I would check with the venue if that is allowed.

My husband and I had a court house wedding ceremony. Our reception is still for the end of the year. If you want to be married, just do it. We went to the court house and got married and had our immediate family there. You can always renew your wedding vows. I hope this helps.
