Hi - for budget reasons I am looking at another way to cut a chunk out of the expenses. (Yes, we are giving the guest list another big chop). Has anyone considered or not done flowers for the bridesmaids?

I know the big question is what will they hold walking down the aisle? Any ideas of something I can throw together for free?

How bad is it if they hold nothing? (God forbid, they walk down the aisle with hands free...)

Flowers aren't important to me at all. There is a fine line between spending as little as possible and looking cheap, I don't want to look cheap.

Thanks everyone, stay warm. Chicago is freezing right now. Literally, -35 windchill.

My maid of honor asked about hydrangeas instead of a single rose - only because its a bigger flower. I think that would also look lovely. What do you guys think?

Edited: AND THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. Great advice and suggestions.

I think I'm also going to axe this from my budget as well as flowers for me since I'm not doing a bouquet toss. I don't see why they need to be holding something. I only have two girls, they can dance down the aisle holding hands if the want lol.

I think hydrangeas would be very pretty. Just be careful, they can wilt fast if not properly looked after.

I did a bunch of baby's breath and a single cabbage rose for the girls to cut down on price. You can find cheap ways if you still want flowers. Check out costco!!

I'm considering doing sola flowers. They've been talked about in other posts. They're like balsa wood and can be dyed and are really cheap. Look on save-on-crafts.com

What about one large sunflower? Would match your colors.

Or have the groomsmen walk with the BMs. If BMs have 1 hand tucked into arm of GM, they won't look so empty-handed.
