NJ Venue Prices $$

Adrianna, on August 1, 2016 at 9:39 AM Posted in Planning 0 22

My fiancé and I just recently got engaged and have started our search for venues in New Jersey. Before setting up some appointments, I was wondering if anyone can give us any suggestions/ price points for any venues. We love The Venetian - any prices on that? We don't want to waste our time and visit venues way out of our price range.

This would be a good question for Celia. Or just call them.

Do you have a budget already set? And an estimated guest list?

most places have minimums- I'm betting that place is easily a 10-20K event location.

Just start reaching out to them and sending emails. That's the only way you're going to find out.

I used WW to find venues then I called/emailed for price lists and to see if our date was available. I think I got about 10 estimates then we narrowed down to 3 to go visit at a time. We fell in love with the first place we visited. I would call for an estimate and price list.

The Venetian is gorgeous. I believe their starting price is 125pp++ (depending on day and time of year). You will find that most places in that Venetian category--over the top, Jersey style wedding will go no lower than 100pp for either a Thursday in prime season or other days in non-prime season. Good luck on your search.

I was so frustrated looking at venues in Jersey. Either I loved it but it was out of budget or I hated it and it was in budget. We ended up choosing a Thursday night in the summer to have our wedding at our dream venue.

For the Venetian you'd be looking at around $180+ per person. Of course that would vary depending on the day/season; but that's ballpark.

Where are you looking specifically? We are getting married in North Jersey in November, I might be able to give you some recommendations.

Easily going to be $125/person. There's one venue up that way that's $250/person and that's off season.

CMC - looking in Northern Jersey. The Venetian, Nanina's In The Park, Park Cheateau, and Seasons are our top choices right now.

North or south? That makes a big difference.

I'm in the north and there's a big range. Your profile says November, so you'll get a little bit of a break on pricing. Most places I looked at for Novemver were between 115-200 pp. There's also places that easily go up to 300-400 pp. I just knew not to even contact them lol

What's your budget? What's important to you in a venue? Are you looking for a particular vibe?

Call them. (At the Venetian, look for Toni Anne). And realize that starting prices are just that; starting prices which very often include brunch and Thursday. In my experience, most of my top level venues, (Venetian , Seasons, Florentine, Rockleigh, The Grove, Park Savoy, Palace, etc) are going to be upwards of 150.00 PP, usually plus tax and service. On a Saturday, you're probably going to be looking at a 120 minimum at the very least.

There is a reason for the pricing; the venues I listed are absolutely top notch in food, service, planning help and decor. Their events are seamless, their staff is amazing, and they all have a wow factor that is hard to beat.

November is technically off season for most venues here; Thursday is cheaper. But you're also looking at over two years away, and prices go up.

But think of it this way; if you took another couple out to dinner at a gorgeous place like that, bought them 3 drinks, four courses and dessert? You would easily be looking at 150.00 PP.

Wedding-spot.com provides price estimates for a few venues. We found it helpful when I first started looking to eliminate places that were clearly and immediately outside the budget.

Ah gotcha, I'm about a half hour west of that area but I work in Rutherford and I have several co-workers who are currently looking at venues. I've heard good things about The Tides in North Haledon too.

Follow Celia's advice. The venues we toured also told us that November is off-season, so prices are a little cheaper. Our Saturday night wedding is about 130pp, but again I'm about a half hour west of where you're looking.

I only visited places after they sent a price brochure. Don't look at it if you can't afford it for your # guests, time of year, etc

At the Venetian you are looking to spend $150-$180 pp. Nannie's is at least $110. You'll save a little more being off season. Have you looked through the vendor tab? If you email the venue managers, they will usually send you some information including price estimates.

I found it easy to use the vendor tab to send out a stock email to every venue we were interested in. From there, I narrowed down what was in (or close to) our preferred price range. I specifically asked for pricing information, and I think pretty much everyone emailed it.

Alot of Venus have pricing and other info on there website. At a minimum they will list what they offer if you send them an email at least this is what I found when I was looking. FH and I went to his dream location for fun, but knew we couldn't afford it and weren't worried about making it work. It's ok to dream sometimes.
