Background: My full name is Jessica but I've been called Jessie pretty much since the day I was born.

My MOH wants to put Jessica on my shower invite and my mother was asking if I planned to do Jessie or Jessica on the wedding invitation. I'm not sure what to do. My wedding is more on the casual side than it is black tie affair (Catskills, tent, on my aunt and uncle's property). I don't want it to seem TOO casual, but sometimes I feel like Jessica isn't really my name (if that makes sense?)

Thoughts?

We had a casual (beach) wedding. We used Cindy and Dex on the save-the-dates and Cynthia and Dexter on the invitations.

I'm also Jessica, but I never go by that except where legally required. Invitations and even our vows were Jessi.

My shower invitations say "Bethie"! My wedding invites are more formal and have my name as Elizabeth.

My DH is Anthony, but he has always gone by Tony. He was upset by the idea of using his formal name on invites because he never ever uses it. So we had everything say Michelle & Tony. We only used our full first and middle names once in the ceremony, when we were pronounced husband and wife. No one batted an eye.

My shower invites had "Faith" and "Ricky" -our more casual names. Our formal invitations had our full names on them: FirstName MiddleName1 Faith MaidenName and Richard MiddleName LastName.

I would use the nickname on STDs and shower invitations, but full name on invitations.

Definitely use what you're more comfortable with, especially for a casual wedding! If you were having a formal, ball gown type deal then your full name wouldn't be out of place, but you want this to feel like you! My FH is a Christopher, but I've never once heard anyone call him that. Our invitations will say Chris because that's what he goes by.

Choose whatever feels right for you!

I didn't use my first name on my wedding invitation because most ppl think Markita ( which is actually my middle name) is my NAME.
