New York rates... $100-$200 per person?

The funny thing is MOST of my family lives in S Florida near Orlando but in the outskirts and we will be having a follow up reception there a few weeks after our wedding for my family who can't make it up here. But we are just gonna do a backyard bbq kinda thing or go out to eat to celebrate. Wah wah....

My FI and I live in Brooklyn and we decided to host our wedding right outside New Paltz, about 90 miles north of NYC, on a farm. Our guest list is ~180 and we will hit about $90/person. This cost includes venue, rentals, booze, and food.

The same type of wedding in Brooklyn or NYC would have been easily triple the cost. If you are willing to travel outside the city, I highly recommend that.
