New Wedding Date

Vicki, on August 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
I had to change our wedding date to a day in May to get the venue I wanted. So I chose 5/10/20 because it's fun. Realized later that it's Mother's Day... I am hoping it's not too big of an issue. Not too worried about guests but worried it might affect other vendors. What do y'all think?

My sister-in-law's sister got engaged on Mother's Day a few years ago. My mom and I still went, and they still had a good crowd! Probably 125 or so.

I wouldn't think it would be a big deal.. The biggest mothers day thing I've ever seen is to go out for brunch or dinner. The mothers should still be able to celebrate some before or after your wedding anyways Smiley smile

That's what I was thinking too. It's going to be in the late afternoon, most families do early celebrations

My parents got married on 5/9, I wanted 5/10/20 to be cute. But my mother said she regrets it because she's basically never celebrated her anniversary sense having children and because my grandmothers were alive she had to share the day with them too. So I took her advice and went for 10/10.
I think there will be a good crowd if you like it that much. But if you wants kids you might end up like my mum and never celebrate your anniversary.

I think getting married on Mother's Day should be fine!

I think it'll be ok. I got married on a weekend that was filled with father's day and graduation festivities.

I think it'll be fine. My bff rented out a bed and breakfast a few hours away and got married mothers day weekend. Her mom thought it was the best mothers day gift.

Ours was the day before mothers day this year and it was fine! We took advantage of the mothers day brunch the morning after and treated the guests staying at the hotel to breakfast! Just be sure you have all of your flowers ordered before the holiday!
