New. Looking for a Venue Massachusetts area?

RhnCasi419, on May 1, 2014 at 8:26 PM Posted in Planning 2 20

This is much harder than I dreamed it would ever be. We are in the Boston area but are not opposed to anywhere in the State of Massachusetts. We would like to keep our guest list at 60 people - 80 tops. So far I have fallen in love LOVE with Tupper Manor in Beverly ... but oh so $$$$. I think I better get that place out of my mind, it just can't happen with our budget. Oh, yeah ... the budget - is low. Trying to swing it all on $10,000. I'm ready to elope. Is it all worth it? Never been a bride before. Feeling frustrated on finding/choosing a venue here ...

You could try the Lodge at Fort Pond in Littleton. They're really affordable and you get to bring your own catering and everything which can help keep costs down.

The Cushing Center in Norwell, MA is pretty cheap and you can bring in your own caterer.

I was very close to having my wedding at the Hammond Castle in Gloucester. Beautiful location right on the water and an interesting flair being a medieval castle and all Smiley smile

The myriad ballroom is pretty cheap.

    Watchusett mountain is great.

There is a beautiful farm called zukas farm. It would have been one of my choices but in October they were already completely booked for 2014.

If you do Turner hill in Ipswich between December and April, it only cost 1000 for the rental !!! I also loved Tupper manner, but once I found Turner Hill I knew it was the one Smiley laugh

If you're open to traveling to the Cape, Salerno's in Onset is SO affordable and friendly. My parents suggested it, and I didn't think I would like it until I got there. I looked at 10 places in the area, and Salerno's was the obvious choice. If you check them out, tell Nicole that Kyle Greene sent you. (I won't get any kick back, she's just been so awesome to work with).

I am getting married at teh Andover Country Club, they are very reasonable and very nice. However, if you are looking for a more rustic place, my friend got married at the Gore Estate in Waltham. It was a beautiful venue and the reception was in an old barn!

I'm guessing from your mention of Tupper Manor you like the estate-look wedding.... If so, try Willowdale Estate (Topsfield) or Endicott Estate (Dedham). Beautiful mansions. Willowdale does some great deals and Endicott is pretty reasonable because it's a town property (Dedham) and not privately owned. Borderland State Park (Easton) is also great. I also like Lyman Estate (Waltham), and if you're looking for more rustic - Chamberlain Farm (Berkley).

There are plenty of good venues to check out on WW, but if you're stuck and need some more suggestions, try this site:

OH MY GOODNESS ... I am BEAMING right now after trying on my first ever few wedding dresses. Then I log in on here and see all the wonderful suggestions and responses. I can't thank you all enough for the helpful suggestions. (Yes, I had to get it out of my system ... I tried on dresses before I even have a date or venue, but at least I found my style and what flatters my figure, it was driving me mad not knowing, having never done it before.) Again, thanks everyone.

By the way this is obvs not my actual "date" it is a sort of "tentative" we are open to anytime in 2015. At first we wanted October but now we are seeing the deals for winter/spring weddings. So, we are still narrowing things down. We just know we want to marry in 2015 at this point. Meeting with the church on May 14 and will have a better idea. In the meantime I would like to have a good idea on venue too. Again, I can't thank everyone enough.

I've never been to weddings at the Endicott Estate or the Lyman Estate, but from talking with other brides, they both sound like lovely places.

Spencer peirce little farm in newbury is a little over $1,000. You do need an outside caterer though. I'm having my wedding there and my budget is less than yours so you could definitely swing it! Smiley smile

I was looking at other posts and found this one was useful for my search. Stephanie you mentioned your getting married here. Is it tent only and if that is the case do you have someone in mind your renting from?

Also catering do you need your own catering and is it ccheaper than going with a place that already caters
