New invitations for rescheduled wedding?

Mrsn2020, on March 19, 2020 at 2:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 13
My wedding was sadly rescheduled from April 25 to October 23.

Do I send out another invite? Should it be more like an announcement?
Since I already spent my invitation budget, any suggestions where I can get new ones, maybe not so fancy, printed?

So the lady that did our invitations actually offered us a free change the date design. It matches our invitations, and it'll come in a similar envelope. Not sure if you guys are thinking something similar, but we also didn't want to spend money on invitations again. Maybe see if Shutterfly or Zola have change the date cards you can send out?

You could always send an evite instead. Since you have already spent money on the first invitations.

Same boat here. We had to reschedule from March 29th to September 13th. I am sending new invitations out so I can get new RSVPs, since the new date may not work for everyone. (I bought inexpensive invites to begin with through Vistaprint and will only spend about another $40 for new invites.)

I think either doing digital or just sending a postcard of the change of date/details would work

I would just send out a simple DIY change the date!

I know there are few vendors out there offering free Change the Dates so that you don't need to order new invites. I would definitely look into that!

Check out this one I found: https://www.sevencranescalligraphy.com/postponed

Lol I just realized we had the same date! April 25th. We moved ours to October 16th. I want to send more out just because the ones we did originally were cheap but so pretty so I figured why not. Being that October so much farther away I wanted to have something to look coward to do and make. Now I’m deciding which pic to use or if we should take a new one just for fun! 😂 trying to see all the positives

I picked up our invitations from our stationary company yesterday (small business) and she told me that if we did decide to post-pone our June 27 wedding that she would offer us a free "Save the new date" card to send out and then when time came around for invitations again, as long as we used the same format as our original's she would just update the date/any changed info for free. The "Save the new date" cards are super cute and a fun way to say...let's try this again.

It makes me feel better I wasn't the only one who pushed their wedding so far back! I'm trying see the positives but it's hard not to be bummed out sometimes.

I'll definitely send something out but some websites were charging a lot just for change of date cards

We moved ours from May 9th to Oct 3rd. I have designed a postcard on www.canva.com. Their stuff comes out good quality! We used them for our Christmas cards. Very affordable and cute templates!

We had our invitations printed with the original date (June), now we moved it to december. Some people received their invitations already before the pandemic (I have been sending invites in waves). What I will do is add the new date with a pen for those that want an invitation mailed to them. I am sure people won't mind. Or just sending a text with the new date.

Right now I am not gonna send mail anywhere but people already now about the change. Who knows, in my case, maybe the invitations will turn out to be unnecessary as the months go by.
