New Date Covid-19

Nancy, on May 8, 2020 at 4:20 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4
Hi everyone, hopefully everyone is staying safe. I know I’m not the only one feeling this way or because my date was suppose to be May 23 and now it has been pushed to September 4. I just don’t know how to feel about it, I’m all over the place and I’m not sure if it’ll be okay by September Smiley sad

I think this will largely depend on your state. Some states are starting to open back up, while others have extended their lockdown/shelter in place for another 30 days. Even with that, those that are opening up now may experience a resurgence in cases, so it's so hard to tell. I'm sorry. I can't imagine how anxiety-provoking this must be for you and many other brides.

Yes, my state is reopening roughly a 25% but I’m afraid their will be a second wave.

    Hi Nancy,

I'm sorry you've already had to postpone once, but I'm glad you found a new date. What's your plan? Have you been working with your venue to discuss options and/or new safety procedures (e.g., hand sanitizer stations, fewer people at each table, masks for banquet staff)? It may be helpful to get more information in advance, so you can wrap your mind around the "new normal."

The general consensus for September weddings and beyond is that it's too soon to panic. To give you a sense of what's happening, many July/August couples are monitoring the situation and trying to make a decision to postpone or adjust their plans (e.g., guest count) by the end of May. If you're interested to connect with other September couples, here are two discussions:

Any september brides canceling their wedding?

How are my September brides feeling?

I'm hoping everything will be closer to normal by then! Sending positive vibes... Smiley heart
