Nerdy Weddings!

The Groomsmen are all choosing a hero or anti-hero from marvel and the one picture shows how we are adding it into their outfits!

My favorite nerdy detail from the wedding was my shoes and my bridesmaid's shoes. (I'm the Ravenclaw toed one!). I told them all to wear whatever shoes they wanted because the dresses were long, but once they saw what I was doing they all wanted in with their favorite comic book or nerdy passion.

My best friend had a marvel themed wedding since her and her husband are OBSESSED. Her garter was spiderman themed, each groomsman had cuff links that were different superheros, their cake also had one side traditional white bridal and one side super hero, and her flowers were all hand made comic book cut out flowers that she cut and put together herself.

Omg I looove this. I'm planning to do a Dr. Who Garter!

We're doing a doctor who wedding. My favorite things are the boutinnieres (FH's has the faces of the doctor) and our dalek cake toppers.

We are having a Star Wars themed wedding!

All of the bridal party members will have lightsabers for a lightsaber tunnel into the reception. All the ceremony music will be from the movies. We are planning on being announced into the reception to the Imperial March. The tables will be color coded and named after planets in the Galaxy. We hired the 501st Legion and R2D2 to come down the isle with me. The cake will be Star Wars themed so will our cake topper and toasting glasses. Our STDs and invites will have a Star Wars theme as well. We are also getting the boys themed cuff links.

@Katie you could add the light saber bouquet holder! That is what I am going to do for mine!

@Chelsea I love it too! But we are more Star Wars so I am using a light Saber! But I added Dr. Who with the cake cutting stuff!

FH and I are kinda all over the place with what we like so we are going to try and have subtle hints of everything we love. But mostly the theme is games. FH and I are sitting at The Game of Life table, our friends will sit at the D&D table, and we are having different games at different tables!

@Sanok2Be! our bouquets are going to light up and be wrapped in black ribbon with embellishments to look like a lightsaber hilt.

We have the wedding amiibos of Mario and Peach as our wedding cake topper and the wedding Bowser for the grooms cake, our canvas is 8-bit hearts, and FH is wearing Legend of Zelda triforce cufflinks! Not completely themed, but enough nods to the things we both enjoy!

We are also having mario and peach as our cake toppers - but in karts. The middle tier of our wedding cake is going to look like rainbow road.

FH and I are are Lord of the Rings obsessed so the bridal party will be walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of Into the West and we'll be doing a recessional to Concerning Hobbits. I definitely want to incorporate more, just haven't figured out how yet

Weddings are way more fun when people incorporate details about themselves into it, instead of just doing what's trendy. These ideas are awesome!

We're planning on having a few elements of A Princess Bride and Dungeons and Dragons. We're so new into the planning process we haven't gotten very far yet, but I do know our officiant will be starting the ceremony with "Wuv, and mawwiage..." and finishing that complete opening before clearing his throat and continuing on in a more traditional vein. The men will wear die 20 cuff links, and we plan on having the officiant hold a player's handbook from D&D for the ceremony as well.

We're setting up video games to play during the reception! It's in the science center so the ceremony is space themed and the reception will be dinosaurs
