Needing ideas for meat options for buffet style dinner

Sara, on July 16, 2018 at 3:44 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
I'm struggling to find another meat option for our dinner. We are doing Chicken Florentine as one meat option. Our sides will be bacon wrapped green, roasted potatoes (either red or gold), Mac and cheese, salad and rolls. The FH mentioned beef but it may be to expensive, we may have to go with a pork. Oh and our guest list is 175.

I'd ask the caterer what else they offer and see how that changes the price of your quote. They'd know better than anyone on here, though beef or fish are both popular meat options at weddings.

Bbq is out because it is like a cook out food for us, not something we'd serve at the wedding. We've spoke with the caterer and they don't have a set menu, they'll make whatever we want. Most of the dishes she offered us were more on the southern side, things I wouldn't serve at a wedding. We are both from up north, he's from Detroit and I'm from Chicago and we live in Tennessee. (I know, it's odd saying no to southern goods and bbq lol) We are looking for something a little more upscale than BBQ or things similar to that.

My cousin had stuffed pork chops at her wedding and they were delicious and a huge hit! I've had beef medallions quite a few times at weddings and they are usually tasty, and usually come with either a mushroom gravy or wine sauce.

They were delicious! I think it was some sort of wild rice stuffing.

You could do a shaved prime rib station. I've seen that done. Or a scallop.

Hi Sara! Your menu sounds delicious! I've had roasted pork chops before at a wedding and really enjoyed them, so that's always an option! Did you ever figure out which meat option you'll have at your reception?
