Need tips to calm wedding day nerves!

Francisca, on November 13, 2019 at 12:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
I get anxiety in populated areas like restaurants or shopping centers, and I’m worried I’ll have an anxiety attack or insane nerves on my wedding day! My FH and I have large families so our ceremony is gonna be pretty big. I get anxiety just thinking about it lol No, I’m not on medication, but I was wondering if there are any tips to help ease the nerves that I may have not thought of. Thanks ❤️

I have the same problem! have diagnosed anxiety that I take daily RX medication for... it's worth going to see a professional if it's standing in the way of your day-to-day life. Even if you're not into medication, a professional can give you strategies to handle anxiety as it comes up. Just think of them as another wedding vendor!

There are also supplements you can take, such as valerian root, CBD oil, Kava, etc, that may work for you. Everyone is different!

Thank you for your response! Yeah, I guess I’ve been sort of putting off seeing a professional for my mental health, but I think it’s time. I’ve used CBD oil to help me sleep so that is a great suggestion! I’m gonna wear my veil over my face while walking down the aisle to help zone out all the people, and my FH said to just keep eye contact with him during the ceremony. Once we’re married I think I’ll be too happy to care after that lol

Maybe doing a first look with your FH before the ceremony can also help calm your nerves a bit?

You might like CALM app or some deep breathing techniques. I would google the breathing for sure !

I think being in a large public place is different than your wedding. Every guest there is a person you know, a person that loves you and your fiancé so no need to get anxious about it. I know is easier said than done but a positive mind can also help! Just stay calm and positive and you’ll be fine. Thinking about being anxious is only going to make you anxious. I was nervous right before walking down the aisle but it was a fun butterfly nerve that I think is a feeling we should all experience.
