Just Said Yes August 2021

Need some opinions!

Ximena, on December 3, 2020 at 9:34 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

Hello Ya'll!

I would like an opinion on this..... My fiance and I are thinking of doing our wedding reception buffet style with servers serving the food. Would this look tacky for a wedding? We are doing the dinner starting at 5:30pm

I have been to weddings where they provide buffet. However, with this pandemic still going strong, I would suggest at least “assisted buffet”, where the food is given by servers. So no one beside the servers is touching the serving spoon.

Hi there, I am a wedding coordinator and that has been done at weddings I have done. I think it's fine. Usually guests go with the flow of what's provided. It's your day to do whatever you would like. I hope that is helpful!! Have the best day EVER!!

A served buffet is standard for buffets where I am. Not having servers would be considered a very casual event.

The bonus of served buffet is that you can provide more sanitation and so on during COVID, but you're looking at next August, so things could be very different.

It's best to have servers during the pandemic.

Are you talking about stations? That's typically what a served buffet falls into. There's nothing inappropriate about it and it's especially vital for general safety in a pandemic if you don't want a plated meal.

I think having only have servers handle the service ware is expected now. It doesn't sound strange to me at all.

That's what my husband and I are doing for our big wedding so obviously I don't have a problem with it!

No, it wouldn’t be tacky to have servers serving the buffet. I actually prefer that so only one person is touching the serving utensils.
