Need scar cover up ideas for a backless dress

Anna, on August 1, 2019 at 10:50 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 34
Hi Ladies!
I was wondering if anyone has been successful in covering up high pigmentation/acne scars on their backs without ruining their dress?
I love my dress and the fact that it’s backless but my back could use some help.
Did anyone try any peels that helped lighten the dark spots?
I already have make up that can cover it up but I’m afraid the sweat will smudge it on the dress.
attaching photo of the back of the dress.

thank you!

First of all your dress is gorgeous! I would consult with a MUA. I’m sure they have something. Good luck!

I use Tone correcting serum and a facial peel on my scar spots. It is made by Mary Kay and works wonders. I had scaring between my breasts and it has disappeared completely. I also had acne scars on my face that are almost completely gone.

    Hey!
Just my opinion, but you are beautiful just as you are. The dress is gorgeous and none of us are perfect.

Your scars are a part of you and you shouldn't be ashamed at all. I don't think anyone would notice but you.

Since it's important that you feel as beautiful as you look, I can totally understand you wanting to cover them to make yourself more comfortable.

I've heard some good things about dermablend. I have some differing pigments on my arms due to medication that I took many years ago.

When I was younger, I felt the need to cover it. Now, that I'm older I've just accepted it as a part of me.

My dress has spaghetti straps and I'm ok with thatSmiley smile
Good luck to you. You will make a beautiful bride either way.

I have melasma & the best the I've done is microneedling but I don't know if I'd do that to my back. Check with a dermatologist & see what kind of treatments & lightening creams they'd recommend.

I’m in theatre and I know many of my former castmates used “Dermablend” to help cover up tattoos or other markings. Some would even spray hair spray on it to set it in place. But GIRL, that dress is so unique and beautiful I don’t think anyone is gonna notice! I LOVE your dress🤩! Is the lace iridescent?! You could also ask your photographer to edit the acne marks out in the edits.

Thank you for such a sweet message! 💕
I was super self conscious about my back during my late teens (when it happened) to just about a couple of years ago. I care less now and accept myself as I am but for the wedding day I’d love to look as flawless as possible. So I guess old habits die hard!

and it’s actually embroidered with tiny sequins (that are iridescent ) to make it look like lace.

Yes. I think you are your worst critic. Wear your scars with pride. I honestly, couldn't see a single scar. I promise.
Everyone will be looking at your radiant face and that dress!
Just be you! And you have the perfect name Smiley smile😘

Anna, I actually have the SAME worries and question so I'm happy to find this thread. I had TERRIBLE acne as a kid/teen then it cleared up and I had clear skin all my adult life... Until now lol. It turns out my BC was pulling double duty as acne medication, too. (Which is actually a common and well known side effect that I just didn't know lol.) Suddenly, I was back to horrific acne and scars on my chest and back 😭 I was gonna make a post like this, too. But wanted to say you aren't alone! Thankfully my dermatologist is getting my skin clear but I'm worried about the scars remaining. I'll probably ask her about lightening treatments but incase nothing works I'm glad to see the Dermablend suggestions.

Princess Eugenie (British royal) got married last year and had her dress specifically cut to show her scar from a scoliosis operation she had as child, as she wanted to embrace it and wear her scar with pride, as a part of her. I totally understand wanting to look flawless on your wedding day, who doesn't, but you could do worse than take a leaf out of her book 😊

Wow!!! I love your dress!!! Where did you find it? If you’re worried, most makeup artists have a setting spray that I would think would help keep it on. I’m not sure, maybe a spray tan might help? Otherwise, you look beautiful in it and I wish I could have found a dress like that!
