Need Ideas

Hailey, on August 3, 2023 at 9:35 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
Hello. I'm 19 and newly engaged. We aren't planning on having our wedding for a couple years still (I'm wanting to finish college and figure that stuff out first). We think we wanna do a 1950s theme but aren't sure where to start. We are going for Blue&Gold decor/setup.

Congratulations on your engagement Hailey. Since you've got time to play with, I'd recommend checking out Pinterest. Simply searching for "1950s wedding theme decor" results in many ideas. Have fun planning.

Congratulations! Since your wedding is further out, I would recommend just staying in research mode for now. Check out different aesthetics on Pinterest and Instagram, read bridal magazines, and check out people’s post-wedding photos when they post places like here and Reddit. Don’t commit to anything just yet because your tastes could change by the time you need to really start ordering things. I personally felt like every time I made a decision or placed an order, the next day I saw something that I might have liked better lol.

congrats on the engagement! That's awesome that you're planning ahead and taking your time to enjoy college life first. A 1950s theme sounds wicked cool! To kick things off, check out some vintage-inspired decor and outfits from that era. Blue&Gold vibes will be perfect for the theme, so think retro and classy!

Congratulations! The theme sounds really fun. Since it’s quite a bit out, I would just create some kind of spot for ideas (I did a lot of this on Pinterest). I wouldn’t commit to anything decor wise until you’re closer. I know my style definitely changed a lot in the time I planned

I agree with others that you should figure out what you want first. Once you know, start booking your vendors. The venue should be first. Booking ahead has the benefit of locking in prices of the current year (usually).
