Need ideas for an "anti-covid Cancellation" Honeymoon

Meagan, on April 22, 2020 at 7:14 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3

We're getting married on December 7th and are not planning on cancelling, regardless of COVID. Hopefully, things blow over, but if they don't, we're doing it virtually. Now, for the honeymoon.....we can't seem to think of anything that we can do that can't possibly be cancelled because of social distancing except staying home LOL. But I know there is something, we're just stuck in that "perfect honeymoon in Hawaii" phase right now.

Everything we come up with involves either a plane or a hotel. We even thought of renting a yacht for the weekend for just the two of us, but that involves a captain, who could definitely choose to cancel on us.... I would prefer to plan something that can't be affected so that we don't have to cancel a wedding AND honeymoon if it comes down to it.

Does anyone have ideas they can share?? Any December brides thinking the same thing??

I think you could do an AirBnB. Since you’d be the only ones there I don’t think they would cancel on you.

Certainly start looking at places you can drive to and rent a private space from - a mountain cabin, a beach house, something like that.

    Good luck!

    Hi Meagan,

It's okay to be nervous about the future. We're all hoping that COVID-19 will be under control well before December, of course.

I agree with the PP. It seems like private rentals will be allowed. I know Airbnb is updating their policies for May and adding optional new cleaning protocol (based on this recent Business Insider article).

With regard to your wedding and your honeymoon, you are not alone in your concern. Here are two recent discussions with other December brides:
