Need help with MOA dress -- important

kscha925, on December 1, 2013 at 9:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

My sister lives 4 hours away and only comes up for a few days around holidays. We have no time to search for a dress. Her and her daughter are the only people in my "bridal party". Her daughter is a junior bridesmaid. I'm a non-traditional bride, but we need to find dresses for them now. We went to David's bridal, but the dress I liked had these weird ripples in the back of it. It just didn't look as nice in person. So, now I'm looking at places like Macy's...but I'm not seeing anything. The color I'm looking for is called persimmion at DB's..sometimes it might be called poppy though. I don't want my niece to wear the same dress, but similar color. My niece is 10.

I don't know where to look, but at this point we probably don't even have time for dresses to come in or anything.

This was the dress she tried on with the ripples. I loved the picture, but not in person.

I'm lost. What does MOA mean? This is the second time I've seen it and I have no clue.

Have you tried doing a Google Image search with that dress to see if there's something similar?

MOA = Maid/Matron of Honor as far as my alphabet soup knowledge goes.

Kelly, beautiful dress! How disappointing that it didn't work out in person. I'll keep a look out.

You would think it would be an easy to find look and the color suits the holiday season.

Did you do one of those google image searches? I haven't had that much luck with them, but you never know.

When she tried it on, in the back where like the tie part goes around..it rippled weird. Kind of like when you have a sweater that has been on a hanger and gets a ripple on the shoulder.

Did you try on any others at David's?

Otherwise target might be your best bet?

Also have never seen MOA. what's the A?

Does JCrew have that color dress? Otherwise try a local shop to see if they have some discounted or overstocked dresses. If you only need 1 of each it may be able to find a reasonably priced pair of adorable dresses.

Haha I was just wondering because you aren't the first to use MOA and I thought there was an acronym I didn't know about! LOL

Can you show us a different picture of the color you are going for. I did not see the perisimmion color you were referring to and the link sends you to the color "apple"

If you're non-traditional, have you tried modcloth? I found several "matching" dresses for my girls there...Dunno about your color, exactly, but I bet they have something!

I don't know how important it is for the girls to be able to try on the dresses but you can always look online. There is a website called weddington way that has really cute dresses.

I found this on Modcloth for $59. I know the style is different, but the color might work.

I don't like any of the others at David's Bridal. She's going to try at the one down where she lives. If it doesn't work out, that Weddington website looks awesome. Thanks!
