Need Help With February Wedding Colors

Ashley, on July 21, 2010 at 9:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Our wedding is in February 2011 and I have no clue where to start with colors!!! I kind of like the idea of navy with a lighter shade of blue and a white/silver/gray accent, then again I like the idea of doing the same thing with purple. I really don't want to do red or pink because I think that's so overdone so anything besides that I'm pretty open too. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!! Oh and the wedding is going to be indoors because it's in Virginia so it will still be too cold for anything outside unfortunately!!

I think shades of purples and light blues would be pretty... blue for the lingering winter, purple for the upcoming spring! Maybe some white thrown in.

What is the theme you are trying to portray at you wedding what kind of feeling do you want to have for your guest as they walk in. Any colors you use will reflect the type of mood you want to have. The shades of blue would be nice with even hints of green and silver to play with color..I love playing with color and matching different patterns. I would even mix and dark turquise with white silver and tan or gold for more pop....

Since it will be cold I and just getting to the end of winter might I suggest, to cut cost in decor brown and white branches mixed with newly open buds to signify your new marriage.

For more information on my suggestion, connect with me via weddingwire or direct email ********@*****.***

I don't charge for advice or suggestion..

    Good luck and congradulation.

You might also look around your venues for inspiration. My sister got married in a church that was decorated in maroon inside and she chose baby pink and silver as her color. Didn't look so hot in pictures.

My birthday is in February and I am certain that Amethyst is the birthstone for February. so, I'm with AF, Purple is a great choice.

Another Feb bride - yay! When I was searching colors I googled winter wedding colors, there were a lot of christmas-y themes but some good vision boards. My colors are green/black and ivory.

A silly tip... but try catching some reruns of Four Weddings on TLC. They have had a slug of winter weddings this season with some fantastic (and... not) color choices. Its fun to see the actual colors in use!

Skip red for Feb definitely! But like they said- amethyst of the birthstone for February. I like the idea of purples. I think it would be very classy!

Hey wedding twin, my first wedding colors was royal purple, navy blue and gold. I changed it to black, white and pink. It is much easier to get pink flowers in Feb :-p. I will be using all different shades of pink flowers at reception. Hope this helps! Btw, my FS is stationed in VA :-) and I am moving to VA after the wedding.

I think you should do whatever color represents you....it doesn't matter if it's a fall, winter, etc color. Everyone told me that my eggplant purple was too dark for spring....but i didnt' care.
