Need help with Ceremony structure!

My FH and I wrote our own vows but we still want the “I do’s”. We were considering unity candles and I would like our officiant (our pastor) so say a short blurb. Like a tiny sermon lol. And I’m also not sure where I’m supposed to have music playing or not other than when the bride walks up the isle. I need help figuring out a good way to put that all together that flows nicely. Any ideas for a layout?

I’d say you can do whatever you like. There’s nothing you’re really supposed to do except get married and be good hosts. You can have the short sermon before you guys come out. And have soft music playing while people wait for your arrival. You can read your own vows first then have the traditional ones after. That’s what we’re doing.

Last wedding I officiated had soft low music playing while they waited. Then switched to "Here comes the bride" when she came down the isle. I read a few lines of how we were gathered to celebrate the couple and the importance of love and a marriage bond. Then read from Corinthian's, they read their own vows followed by the classic I do vows then I read from John followed by announcing them as husband and wife. With another song playing as they walked hand in hand back down the isle.
Not saying that is what you have to do. It was just an example of the last one I did.

I would ask the officiant for a standard template they uses and go from there
