Need help with bridesmaid dresses :-( David's Bridal won't have the dress in time for wedding.

Everyone has good advice. if it were me, i would also call DB and speak to the manager about the consultant's rude behavior

It's going to depend on the dress and color. The girls ordered their BM dresses for our wedding in January of 2015. The first girl got her dress in May the last girl got hers around the first week of July. They ordered the one shouldered, floor length, Vera Wang dresses in a cobalt blue. I know the Vera dresses can run a bit longer and the color can impact that as well.

We had a similar David's Bridal experience for bridesmaid dresses, plus the extra nuisance of not letting us start trying on dresses until an hour past our appointment time. I guess we were cutting it a bit short (this was end of February) but they were saying every dress they tried on would be impossible to get without 3 months of lead time. And it's not like we were being picky (we wanted EITHER long or short, FOUR different colours, and all different styles). They didn't tell us until we had spent hours in the store picking out and trying on dresses.

In any case, we took our business elsewhere and got better value for better quality dresses. It didn't help that I had visited a few times to try on wedding dresses and had different sales consultants telling me very different things.

DB always says their dresses take awhile to come in. My BM dresses took a week and my dress took three. Just go to a different location.

My MOH is in another wedding that is this year (July I think). They went about a month ago to DB and ordered dresses. Her's came in within 2 weeks and the other BM (who was plus size) got her's a week later.

Try ordering online. I've heard you can get dresses from DB much faster if you order online!

I know how you feel. My girls ordered dresses 2 months ago and they were supposed to be in last week. We got a message telling us that it would be May before the dresses would be in now. We were told 2 months and that is turning into 4 months.

David's Bridal dresses arrive incredibly quickly- they told us 17 weeks and everyone got them within 4. Try another location.

Nordstrom. They have a huge number of bridesmaid dresses in stock in store, and others on the website that can be ordered for immediate delivery.

I basically went to nordstrom.com, ordered 3 dress options for my sister in 2 different sizes with my nordstrom card, and they were delivered 4 days later. She tried them on at my house, kept her favorite and we sent the rest back.

Couldnt have been easier. Beats saturdays at a bridal salon with 4 other bridal parties crowding around the store.

My MOH exchanged her dress for a new one and the new dress was in within a week. I would either check with another location or have the girls order online if they know their size. Certain shades are available for quick ship and they would have their dresses within a week, 2 max.

Try a different location. When I ordered my dress, I was told it would take 3 months to come in. 2 weeks later I received an email saying it was in. All my BMs dresses were in 2 weeks after they ordered them. DB also does rush orders.

Yeah. Our person when we ordered my BM dresses said it could take two months..... more like 2 weeks. I honestly think they say that so you will go ahead and order the dress right that second. Every time I have been there they have been rude.

Sorry you had a negative experience. I went to a DB in Chicago, in January, on a Saturday. I should've known better. My consultant had two other brides she was working with and it was so crazy hectic. I tried on a few dresses and had to get the hell out of there.

But depending on what you want, it's very possible you could get a dress from a regular department store. If you just want a cocktail style dress, all kinds of stores have bridesmaidy style things you could get day of.

Thank you all so much! I left a comment on one of their posts about my experience and a manager did reach out to me. They stated practically, just about everything that the majority of you all were stating. Long story short and based on what I was informed, the store could've easily looked into other options and at least attempted to contact the warehouse. I promise you all, I am definitely not a difficult person by any means, but that was all that I wanted the young lady to do that was assisting us during our appointment. I was literally in tears after she whipped out her iPad and screeched to stop looking at the dresses, as she had just discovered they wouldn't be in, in time. Keep in mind the time spent driving to the location (2hours), the fact that we went in knowing just what we wanted, and how if we asked her anything she would take 15 minutes to get the color or have an answer.

I do appreciate a manager reaching out to me and communicating everything back to that store location's manager. We had already planned to shop elsewhere this upcoming weekend, had she not reached out. She informed me that the dresses should arrive at the end of April-mid May. I personally do not think that all DB experiences are the same. It's as if you have to basically catch them on a "good day". Please keep that in mind if you do decide to shop there and shop WAY early because many of the items have to be special ordered from their warehouse. I'm in a wedding the same day as yours. I ordered my dress three weeks ago. I was told it would be in late April. It arrived yesterday!

One of my BM ordered her dress 2 months before the wedding. It came in 2 weeks.

They can get it. Order from another DB. It doesn't all have to be from the same DB. If they know the correct size (not same as street size) your girls can even order over the phone.

I had the opposite experience. I went with 2 of my girls in January for their dresses. They ordered them and we were told that they would be in 3/9. They both got messages from DB that the dresses now won't be ready until 5/9. Their orders hadn't even been processed from the warehouse. What a nightmare as they have to have alterations and that is so close to the wedding.

Go online and see if the color you want is "ready to ship." Also, it will depend on the designer, for example, my friend went with a Vera BM dress. We all ordered within a week of each other (well before the suggested cut off date) and they said it would take 12 weeks AT MOST. It has been 16 weeks and 2 dresses just came in, one is supposed to get here at the end of march, mine is scheduled for April 4th, and then the MOH is slated for AFTER the wedding. It is all hot fucking mess right now. I seriously hate DB after this experience and I'm not even the bride.
