Need help to decide

You should at minimum host a cake n punch reception after. Or do a sandles resort and get married/elope there

Personally if I could I would just do a ceremony and no reception because that is the part that is super expensive. However, I can see why it is poor etiquette to have people come see you and not provide some type of refreshment can come off as rude. You could do a honeymoon and elopement in one just like others said. Otherwise, for a small weddings here is the advice I researched: Keep the guest list small, have the wedding and reception in between major meal times (i.e. brunch or between lunch and dinner), have it any day but Friday or Saturday, keep reception basic...host it at your house and do some food trays from Costco or a grocery store and a cake (despite popular opinion I do not feel you do not need to liquor up guests but that is my opinion).. Research venues as some of those can be expensive too. Pending where you live you may have officiants that set up a venue for you and marry you.

I like PPs idea of having cake and punch after the ceremony. Skipping reception is a good idea because that really is a bulk of the wedding cost
