Hi folks, I said yes to my dress a few weeks ago after a whirlwind journey and many conflicting emotions! It is by far the most dramatic option I tried on, and it totally captures how I want to feel on that day. It presents some interesting challenges, however, because I had been anticipating something with an exposed back, and/or cape veil, and this dress is quite a different direction. For one, it's very silver and glittery - I've attached both the model pictures and pics of how it looked in the store for reference. I had been thinking I would wear all gold jewelry and hair accessories. It's also long sleeved and has a high neck and closed back. So my questions are:
1. What are my options for a headpiece? Should I stick with antique silver or can I pull off mixed metals with all that glittering crystal detail? Could I even do a florals headpiece with some of my bouquet flowers (dark purple or burgundy) for contrast?
2. Veil! Should I even bother? Everything I'm reading says that if you have a train you need a cathedral veil - and I'll have the overskirt that I'll be wearing for pictures and the ceremony. But I'm afraid of a veil being overkill with how detailed and dramatic this dress already is.
3. I want to do long earrings - should I stick with pearl or crystal? Or could something with a little gold work? I was also looking at a few options of raw stone (i.e. Rachel Mulherin) for an interesting contrast.
Any thoughts are very helpful!
