Need help getting foundation to stay!

Angela, on June 30, 2021 at 10:56 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 15
Anyone have any tips or tricks to get foundation to stay on your nose? My nose starts to break up on the sides and also by the tip. I also need opinions on a good lasting foundation. I decided to do my own make up to save money. I do pretty well for a day to day. But it's freaking me out because of the photographer. Who doesn't want to look good in their wedding pics lol.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation works wonders for me. I wear it as a foundation or as a powder on top of my other favorite liquid foundation.

Are you using a good primer and either a setting spray or setting powder? Both of those things will help keep foundation in place.

I just bought smashbox setting spray that seems good and milk hydrogrip primer. I was just seeing if anyone else had better ideas lol. Or the same issue and found something that worked.

Yes I've used that one in the past. It made me feel like my skin couldn't breathe. It would get red and I'd end up washing my face.

That sounds like you might be allergic to it, so definitely disregard my recommendation lol.

Maybe I could try the sample one and see if it agrees with my skin. It didn't before :/

Ok, I’m a professional makeup artist so I got you girl! Try to use an eye primer or a MAC paint pot (painterly or soft ochre) lightly in your nose problem areas to prime your weak areas on your face where your foundation slips. You can even bulletproof it by dusting a light powder over the primer and under the foundation to set it even more. It sounds like it would be cakey but light handedly, it won’t be. Also, I use Blue Marble setting spray which I’ve even used on set and it never fails me. An alcohol based one like the Green Marble will let you jump in a pool without your makeup budging, but some people are pretty sensitive to alcohol based sprays. Hope that helps! Good luck!

And double wear for the foundation is my number one. Or RCMA, but if you go that far, you might as well hire someone bc it’ll start to add up.

I think these are some really good tips! I like skindinavia setting spray, which is used by synchronised swimmers in the pool, so you know it's the real deal.

I also think if this is something you're worried about, I'd have a slightly damp beauty blender in a ziplock bag with your bridesmaids/your other stuff plus a mini-setting spray so you can smooth out your nose and re-set. That or a powder foundation to just pat onto the sides - clinique makes a really good one, and so does chanel, which I know is pricey, but it IS good!

Thanks, I seen that setting spray on another post. I'm going to look into it. And also a good powder foundation 😊
