Need help finding classic rock father daughter dance song ..

Nic.Dee, on April 30, 2014 at 6:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

My dad raised me on classic rock, namely Queen, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, U2, etc. I don't want a sappy Frank Sinatra song for our dance, but I'm having a hard time finding an appropriate song for us.. I do NOT want to dance to "sweet child of mine," no matter who covers it. I've heard it at a million weddings. So, if you have any ideas, they're much appreciated.

I'd LOVE to dance to Led Zeppelin's "Thank you," but I don't know if that's weird or not..since it's kinda love song-ish. Tell me your opinions please Smiley smile

Thank You is FH and my First Dance song :-) I love it. But I don't know about dancing with my father to it o.O

It is the #1 on the offbeat bride list of non-sappy father daughter songs though

I'm in the same boat - my dad is a huge classic rock fan and raise me on it as well. He is a big REO Speedwagon fan and every time I hear one of their songs I think of him...which makes me want to pick one of theirs despite it maybe not being the best choice lyric wise....or I'm leaning towards Paul Simon's Father/Daughter

Yeah I hear Paul Simon's song..it isn't bad either. I'm just so stuck on Thank You and I have no idea what else there is that would fit this genre.

I saw "changes," but I don't think (in my opinion) that's a nice rhythm to dance to. Thank you, though.

I wish my dad liked classic rock. He likes big band stuff from the 40's.
