Need Caterer for Wedding Reception for under $700 feeding 70-80 people! HELP!

I am working on a very limited wedding budget and am having a hard time finding a reliable and trustworthy caterer that I can afford. Am looking for either Italian or BBQ based dinner menu to feed about 80 people in a small location. Would need someone to set up food with hot chaffing dishes, and nice table cloths to cover all tables used. Also would like caterer to provide all utensils/plates/cups and a variety of drinks (i.e, water, tea, coffee, ice tea). An insured caterer is desirable. Looking for total cost to be below $700 including tax/gratuity/delivery charges, etc. Only serious offers wanted.

I had my deposit down on my venue too...then changed my date 3 times with no problems. have you discussed your options with your venue? most venues can give recommendations on where to go for catering - all you gotta do is ask and explain your budget, expected guests etc...

BBQ in my area is about $11 per person...we chose that for our rehearsal dinner, which we have about 150 people invited to!

Would you like fries with that? Seriously, have you gone out to eat recently? And you're having your wedding on one of the most popular dates of the year?

You can't feed people with service, tax, grats, delivery and disposables for what you want to pay. Your plan is unrealistic.

You are being pretty unrealistic. Less than $10 per person? If you only have $700 to spend, on the list of items you mentioned, perhaps you need to hold off on a reception and get married at City Hall.

I do not make that comment to be mean, but realistic.

Famous Daves has a really affordable catering menu, and you have a lot of control so you could possibly make that work.
