Need affordable wedding venue in Tampa area!

Giselle, on May 17, 2016 at 6:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

We are looking for an affordable wedding venue in the Tampa Area that allows for us to use our own catering service and provide our own alcohol.

We are looking to have around 100-150 people in attendance.

We are open to indoor/outdoor venues and are open to exploring any options!

I've done my research on quite a bit of venues and have found a few I like but I wanted to know what other suggestions others out there had!

As far as affordable goes we are trying to keep the cost as low as possible.

I'm so excited to be planning this wedding and can't wait to see it all pieced together in the end!

Welcome Giselle! I understand that you want to keep the cost as low as possible, but can you give us an idea of approximately what you're prepared to pay? Affordable means different things to different people.

Also, have you checked out the Venues tab here on WeddingWire? There are lots of options listed there.

I have checked out the venues tab but wanted to see what others may have personal suggestions on. I'd like to keep the total budget around $5,000.

I know a lot of people say it isn't feasible with as many guests as we have, but we are trying to keep it as budgeted as possible. Our budget is flexible, but we want is to be as affordable as possible.

St. Pete Lions Club or the St. Pete Community Center may work. Or the museum in ybor.

I am getting married in Ybor so I understand where you are coming from. Winter Park rents out some places that are fairly inexpensive, only a few hundred dollars. We are getting married at CL Space which is beautiful and very inexpensive. They have a max capacity so I don't think it would work for you. Good luck!

If Sarasota is not too far, check out South Gate Center (listed here on WW). Tables & chairs included in the very reasonable fee. Indoor & outdoor space, catering kitchen, creek front, big oak trees.

I'm a Tampa bride too! I am having 100 guests and my buget is $8000- so not exactly the same, but we are close.

Here are the venues I found that worked for my price range, and might work for yours:

    -Industrial/modern locations:

    CL Space in Ybor City

Morean Arts Center for Clay in St Petersburg

Coppertail Brewery in Ybor City (this is actually the spot I ended up choosing)

    -Country locations:

    Oak K Farm in Lakeland

    Harmony Haven in Bartow

    So here is an update!

I've looked into quite a few of these venues and my fiance and I have discussed what we want. We would prefer to have an outdoor wedding with an indoor reception.

We are also open to different ideas, and making our budget a little more flexible.

Did you try Bradenton or Sarasota? We found quite a few nice venues that weren't as expensive as Tampa!

There's also a cool barn location closer to Lakeland - maybe in Plant City.

JillR, Do you remember what the name of the barn location was?

@Giselle- Old McMicky's has a barn that you can hold events in. They call it The Barn at Cresent Lake. I think it is in Odessa. I am a sorority advisor at UT and my girls did an event there a few years ago. It was definitely affordable.

Wishing Well barn is in Plant City. A friend got married there. The pics were nice but I've never seen it in person.

I've seen some beautiful photos of the st. Pete women's club. I wanted to check them out but I wanted a place that could do their own catering.
