Natural Hair color for Wedding? Debating..

Braelynn, on October 15, 2020 at 6:24 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
I am a natural brunette (almost black hair) but have been getting highlights in my hair for the past several years. Currently my hair is really blonde from all of the highlights! I am debating if I should go back to my natural color for the wedding? I have heard other brides say to keep your natural color and steer clear of trendy hair colors/cuts! What is your opinion on this? Do you have experience with this? Sometimes I Don’t like the tone of my highlights.. the same person does my hair every time but sometimes it’s ashy (almost grey) and sometimes it’s a very warm blonde.. so I’m getting worried lol

Check out offbeatbride.com. What do you normally wear 24/7? Colored or natural? Go with whichever you love best that is *you*. If you haven't worn your natural color since 10th grade, don't pretend to look like someone else just to please people whose opinions don't matter. The only one to decide what you wear or don't is you. If you rock teal or cherry hair on a daily basis, keep it for your wedding so you look and feel like yourself.

I think you should go with whatever makes you feel best.

    Totally agree!

I went from dark brown/blue to blond for my wedding (and added extensions). I loved my new look so much I’ve kept it for three years! I’ve always played with various blond, brown or red colors and at some point our wedding photos will look “dated” no matter what we do for them so choose a color you like best! I would choose a color you like in photographs. And start any transition waaaaay before your wedding.

Yes, I agree with the saying to stay away from unnatural colors and cuts in Geberal circumstances. For example if a woman has had dyed purple hair for the past several years then it wouldn't hurt if she went for the same color on wedding day bc everyone knows her with that color. But i wouldn't recommend someone newly dying theur hair purple days or weeks before their wedding.

I recommend every bride to have a hair color and cut that they view as timeless.

My natural hair color is also an almost black brown. I have been getting my hair done for the past year to maintain my new blonde hair, which I LOVE. I am going to either darken it up, or just go full on natural for our wedding day. Reason being, I want to look back on our wedding pictures and feel like I'm looking at me. While the blonde is super pretty, I love the look of a natural hair color and feel like dark hair is more 'me'.

But you need to go with what you feel is best! What hair color do you feel the most comfortable and beautiful in? You feeling confident and gorg is so important!

My natural hair color at this point is a darker blonde, but I've kept it colored at light blonde for the past...yikes, decade? With the exception of the standard "Let's dye it brown, now red, ooooh let's try pink!" that lasted for about a year. So while my true hair color is dark blonde, I'll most likely stick with lighter blonde throughout the engagement and for the wedding because, when I look back in the pictures, it will look the most like "me".

My personal vote is to stick to the color you have the most pictures of from the past for consistency, but that's because I'm a bit anal about weird details like that.

Go with the color you love the most on you.
Who care what other says. My hair is naturally black but I’ve had blonde and brown hair
For the last decade! I just don’t feel beautiful in black hair. If you’re not confident in your own skin then it doesn’t matter anyways what other says! Do you!
