Today would have been my rehearsal dinner and tomorrow would have been my wedding day. All of my friends are trying to get me to go out and all i want to do is stay home and grieve the lost of what I thought my life was going to be. I have spent the last month unplanning my wedding with grace and maturity, but today i just want to cry. I have loved being on thia site and looking at all the beautiful BAMs and laughing at the drama and awesome memes. My question for all of you is what should i do today and tomorrow? Any sappy movie suggestions? A bad romantic book to read? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys!

I know I must sound like a broken record, but The Paris Wife is an excellent romantic book. It's about Ernest Hemingway's first wife, Hattie, and their life in Paris when he was starting his writing career. It's wonderful, and I think it might really hit the spot for you. It made me cry.

Sappy movies: When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Love Actually, About Time, Ever After, The Time Traveler's Wife, P.s. I Love You, Timer (indie film on Netflix, surprisingly good!)

Take good care of yourself. Happy Un-Wedding Day, and good riddance to the man who didn't deserve you.

Get your ladies together, order Chinese, lots of wine. Laugh, cry, shots, let it all out. Never too old for a pj night with your ladies. There is healing in the laughter with your besties.

I'd be binge watching a trashy Netflix series and eating Domino's in my underwear if I were you.

I know it's so hard to see now but you are going to look back and think THANK GOD that never happened. I'm going to support the movies and wine option. Let yourself feel but don't dwell on being sad for too long. *hugs*

Girl, do whatever the hell you want to do. If you are not ready to go out and party then don't. If you feel you want to cry in the bathtub with ice cream and a movie, do exactly that! I think it'll be great when you are ready to go out and party and live it up and celebrate yourself, but if you aren't in that place yet don't force yourself to pretend that you are. Be alone if you want, invite friends over if you want. Sometimes I just want to feel my sad feelings, but when I'm trying to change my mood I take baths, exercise, volunteer (especially with cute kittens), cook something fun, try to spend time outside, or clean and DIY house projects.

ETA what kind of sappy movie do you like? Do you want really romantic and emotional? If so, About Time is my all time fav. 5 Year Engagement is also amazing, and very very funny. Wanna kick some breakup ass? Kill Bill or First Wives Club. But if you aren't up for romantic reminders I'd recommend Pacific Rim (hilariously terrible) or Silence of the Lambs (sooooo enthralling).

Honorable mentions go to Legally Blonde for the girl power, The Last Five Years for the emotional portrayal of a very awful breakup, and Forgetting Sarah Marshal for hilarity and charm and puppet vampires.

I hope you decide to take some of these suggestions and treat yourself. I would definitely do Chinese food, popcorn, wine, and a whole bunch of movies with hot men. I hear Halo Top is good too.

After my first engagement was broken, I spent the weekend that was supposed to be my wedding day taking a surprise trip to NYC. No regrets, totally worth it. Do something to distract yourself and create new, good memories.

Is the cake paid off? Invite a bunch of people over to help you eat it. Order pizza. When I'm sad, I like to smoke weed and listen to music or watch a show. I like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on Netflix. It's also perfectly okay to cry it out. I'm so sorry you're going through this. <3

I can't say I know what you're going through but I do wish for you to have the happiest couple of days. I do think it's important to distract yourself and possibly allow friends and family to take you out and get your mind off of what the days were supposed to be. You'll get passed this and likely the days will move even quicker if you're surrounded by loved ones. I suggest searching "things to do" in your state or a neighboring state. Get out and be adventurous, have fun! Maybe go see a movie instead of watching it at home. It is good to cry but you don't want to be home alone sulking because the day will drag on. Just remember that the time will pass and things will be okay.

Definitely spend time with friends. I'm big on the wine night, romantic movie, and maybe crafty evening g focused on looking forward and not back (as someone who broke an engagement 2 months before the wedding before)

I have to agree with Natalie. When I'm sad I like to smoke a little pot and have a glass of wine and then get really paranoid that my house is messy and I just clean!! Hahahaha I know that sounds totally insane but it keeps me occupied!

Virtual hugs to you. Get some cake, have some wine and eat everything that is bad for you!!!

I'm so sorry. I personally would want to go out with my friends and not sit at home and think of everything I would be doing at that moment if it was my wedding day. But everyone heals different, so if you need to sit home with tequila and Bridget jones' diary, then do that.

I'm so sorry for you. I can't imagine how much you hurt rn. I suggest watching every horror/slasher/thriller movie, lots of adult beverages, lots of junk food, and fun activities like pool, beach, hiking, kayaking, etc. maybe do a little spa day like a hair cut/color with a massage.

I'm so sorry, this weekend is going to be rough for you. Once you get through it, it will be easier. If you want to get your mind off things, you can call me and I'll sing you songs from your favorite Disney movies until you're crying from laughter.

I'm so sorry Felicity. I know exactly how you feel, and it WILL get better even though it may not seem like it now. When I was in my early 20s I was engaged, we changed the date to a different date, then he broke it off 3 months before the wedding. Then I heard THE BASTARD married someone else on what was to be our original wedding date. I went out and got SHITFACED and ate all kinds of yummy unhealthy stuff like the sampler platter at Denny's, and talked tons of shit about that asshole.

Looking back now, I am so glad it happened, and I am glad I didn't have to go through a divorce with him later on. There were so many red flags, like the fact that he expected me to look perfect all ALL TIMES, and that was so not me!! He actually did me a favor, and hopefully later you will feel the same way.

You do whatever the hell you feel like doing, let yourself grieve, and then take very very good care of yourself and your darling daughter!! Come back and check in, definitely!

If you feel better staying in, then do that but maybe invite over a close friend or two? Ideally single friends because I know after I had bad break-ups I didn't really want well-meaning advice from married folks or people in relationships. I wanted other single friends to rally around me and be like, "Yea, fuck that guy. He's the worst" not "Well, when Andy and I met it was all sparkles and fairies and someday you too, will find your knight in shining armor, blah-blah-blah..."

Do you have any fur-babies of your own to cuddle? Ridiculous outfits you can dress them up in for your entertainment? If not and you're not allergic and any good friends have dogs, I highly recommend asking if they'll bring them over for a cuddle-fest!

Movie-wise, I'm gonna recommend a little, low-budget sci-fi-romantic-dramedy called Timer on Netflix, starring Emma Caulfield (Anya, the vengeance demon from Buffy! That's who you need right now!) Actually, now I also highly recommend binge-watching seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer... *internally rocks out to opening riff of show's theme rock song*

OMG, I second the Buffy recommendation. Either that or Love Actually, depending on how you feel.

But no matter what, you do whatever makes you feel better. I'd be watching either of the above while downing a pint of Halo Top.

This same thing happened to my girlfriend when we were in our late 20s and we took her out on the town she wore a black veil and a shirt that said "I was suppose to get married today" and her mom surprised us with a stretch black limo......maybe not the answer for you, since you just said you didnt want to go out but I think of her everytime I hear stories like this.

Im so sorry your heart is so sad and Im pretty sure nothing I say will make that better right now but when one door closes another one opens and you dont see it now but Im willing to bet that whatever is behind that other door is going to make you happier then you ex fiance ever did. Thats when you will realize and understand why it didnt work out with him.

Hang in there.... sending hugs !!!
