My Wedding Day timeline

Teresa, on July 26, 2020 at 5:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Does this look alright? We are not doing, per the FH's request, a first look shoot. We have a 40 minute drive between our venue and the reception area. My girls are going to stay the night at the venue with my in the cabin. The guys will be getting ready there also but in the grooms quarters.

At the ceremony venue:

7-8 Daily devotional (for me) and coffee with the girls

8-2:30 showers and makeup for the 3 bridesmaids, hair and makeup for MOH and myself, mimosas will be involved Smiley smile . There are 5 of us getting ready here. Getting ready photos for bride and groom will be done during this time.

2:30-2:50 gather entire bridal party for a "no look" before prayer by FOB over the bride and groom's union.

3-3:30 ceremony

3:30-5:00 Cocktail hour for guest that want to hangout while the bridal party does pictures. **I know this doesn't seem like a lot of time for the whole picture situation but the groom and his guys will be knocking out a bunch before while the ladies are getting finished**

5-5:30 wedding party and guests clear out for the reception venue.

At the reception venue:

6-6:30 guest enter and find tables

6:30-6:45 Wedding party intros

6:45-8 Dinner

8-8:45 Speeches, cake, bouquet/garter toss. I am splitting this all up with the dances. It will look like this:

Speeches then cake cutting, first dance. Bouquet toss, father daughter dance. Garter toss, mother son dance.

8:45-Midnight Party time, dancing and drinking.

Thank you. I am just now getting to the stressing part of it all. I just don't want anyone to feel rushed or that we are on a super strict timeline. But we are so I worry.

That looks good. I would include some time for getting ready photos for you and your girls and maybe some formal shots once everyone is dressed. But otherwise, looks great.

I probably should have added that note in the girls getting makeup and hair section. Oops that's when we have that planned.
The guys will be doing it as well but they won't take near as long.

Looks great & so organized! I haven’t even thought of our timeline yet. I have a ball park but nothing set in stone. Thanks for the ideas on yours!

Girl I wasn’t going to do a timeline and then the more I avoided it the more I planned it without meaning to haha.

Believe it or not it’s not as intimidating as it seems once you get started.

I wasn’t planning on it either but you’re right- it just happens! I have the timeline from my hair/makeup artist, the photographer just told me when to be at the venue, venue coordinator said what time the cocktail hour would be while we’re taking pics & what time dinner is. It’s just happening without me organizing it! I know when we sit down with the DJ we’re going to lock in a better timeline as far as 1st dance, mom/son dance etc.

That looks like a good timeline! The only suggestion I have is to double check with your photographer that the times you allocated for pictures are the right length to allow for all pictures you're looking for (it seems like it should be more than enough time, but I'm not sure if your photographer has a different timeline in mind). Otherwise, seems like you got everything covered!

Thank you! I just emailed them today with a bunch of questions. Hopefully they will answer that for me. Lol. If not I’ll add that to my list of questions to ask.
