My Venue is under construction

My wedding is in 42 days and I did a walk though of the reception hall today with the photographer and it is a disaster!

Our specific ballroom we are using is untouched but the rest of the building that the guests will be walking though is ripped apart. The floor we are on does not even have a ceiling outside of the room right now! There use to be a catering kitchen in the building and they have taken that out as well and all the food is now being brought in from another location.

They did not tell me my building was scheduled for construction when i booked it i just found out a few months ago and they assured me that it would be presentable enough by now even though the construction is ongoing and it does not look ready AT ALL!

I dont know what to do now and I cant even do anything about it for another week when the event planner is back from vacation.

Im so frustrated I could cry.

I would be flipping at them, because you signed a contract based on a presentation, maybe you can get a discount? I would be livid, sorry to hear you are going through that.

As long as the room youre using is fine then your guests and reception will be fine.

You might need to go over your event planners head in this situation and talk to a manager/owner. I would be beyond pissed.

Its on a university campus so Im trying to find someone on campus to talk to about it Im just so frustrated

My FH is an electrician and just did work on a venue, you'll be very surprised at what can be done in 30 days. He was literally installing lights in a ballroom the day off a wedding. You still have some time, although easier said than done, try not to completely freak out just yet.

Omg! I cannot imagine!!! Can you change venues?? If you can't you just have to find a way to make the best out of it!!! I would ask for a discount! God bless! No matter what things will work out! Stay positive...
