Super July 2020

my venue is closed down Permanently!!!

Stephanie, on February 10, 2020 at 5:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

My Wedding is in 61 days and I just learned our Wedding Venue NOAH's is closed nationwide!!!! I can't even reach ANYONE in the company to tell me anything. My FH drove out there today and there was a sign on the door and confused employees standing outside of the building. I am devasted. I don't know what we will do next.

I would start reaching out to other venues now! Explain to them your situation and see if anyone has any last minute availability. I’d you find somewhere, I’d book it.
There have been several other brides in the forums with this same unfortunate circumstance 😔. I’m sorry this happened to you!

Yeah, the location in my state closed, too. But I've seen a lot of venues offer discounts and waived fees for anyone who was affected by Noah closing. Call around and see what's available.

I was just reading up about this on the news. Definitely call around soon for a near by enough venue that can accommodate. I'm so sorry this happened and I hope everything works out

It is heart breaking but you are still getting married so that is the good news. Be pissed and cry it out and then just pick yourself back up and look for a comparable venue. You may not need to but worse case scenario could you both change the date?

See if any venues in the area are offering discounts because of this!! Hope everything works itself out. I️ can Imagine being a bride who showed up to get married and the doors were locked. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

I heard about this nationwide. (They filed bankruptcy last May!). Start looking and pray you will find something.

Thanks Kristen. Yeah we have already had to change the date. Our original date was very significant and meaningful to us so its upsetting.

I know this is not your dream but have you considered doing something small and intimate on the date you two chose and take a few people out to dinner and then do a vow renewal on the different date. If the date meant nothing then I would not worry but if the date meant something then you should do something even if it is small for that date. Why? You get to be married on the date significant for you two and then still have a larger wedding later.

My friend just asked me the same thing just now. I am going to talk to FH and see what his thoughts are.

Yeah girl. We as brides need to stop putting so much emphasis on having a big day if it means sacrificing what is really important. Don't misunderstand me yo want a big, lavish day you deserve it but I would not forego something of meaning to have a big wedding. I feel you two should do something special if that date means something to you. Smiley smile

Goodness, I can't even! These posts have just been breaking my heart! We had read that the NOAH in our town closed but I hadn't realized it was a national chain until I logged in here the other day. The people running that place will hopefully be crucified! How can they even sleep at night?

The good news (sort of I guess) is that apparently there are lots of venues willing to help brides who were planning on getting married within the next 2 months. Check Facebook and Insta for updates from venues looking to help out. They're offering discounted prices. I had read there was even a place offering FREE services to those brides who were getting married this weekend coming up. I can't believe the government protects these companies while the taxpayers are getting screwed.

Cherry you are so right. I am devastated for myself and the thousands of other couple going through the same thing. Luckily we have found a good venue that we have to settle for. it sucks having to pay thousands of dollars again, but I get to keep my date that was special to us and I still got to marry my best friend.
