I am a high school English teacher. As an end of the year essay I directed my students to write about what could go wrong at my wedding....on this topic my students were not short on words or scenarios. I got one essay where a male student suggested that I hired an undercover alcoholic officiant- as soon as I get to the altar the officiant falls down in a drunken stupor to not be awakened AT ALL...it is quite evident that the officiant cannot perform the ceremony....my student ends the essay with "Ms. Mitchell what would you do?"......I'm so sure I wouldn't know what to do.....praying that my mommy would come to the rescue I guess lol......How about you- What would you do??????????

I actually wouldn't be as upset about the wedding itself as making sure the officiant was okay! Maybe that's because FH is a first responder haha

My Dad is actually able to officiate weddings (and doesn't drink!) so no worries for me!

No tears. We can go to the JOP when we get back. On to the reception!! Lots of laughs later! Oh! And I would share pics of the passed out officiant!

@loreen I love the other responses!

And I'd like to know who pissed in @PABride's Cheerios this morning...

As a fellow high school teacher (math though) I approve. (Almost) Whatever gets kids to write is worth it!

Are you still in HS PABride? It would truly explain a lot.

I live in an antiquated part of PA and I can confirm I had creative writing in 10th grade and AP creative writing/English Lit as a senior.

For some reason I feel an ex showing up to object is a deep seated fear of EVERYONE at the wedding. Loll

@TS- You live in PA?? Why do I feel like I didn't know that? I thought you were in suburban Chicago.

PAbride I bet you are super fun at parties. I guess you got that personality trait from your parents that would be pissed at a creative writing assignment.

@bemyguest- I so wish it wasn't the last day of school because I would have loved to discuss their scenarios...I just finished reading one where the employees of the venue have had an ongoing issue with the manager, so AT MY WEDDING the employees decide to hide all the silverware, so there are no spoons or forks as a sign of protest.... i can't with these teens lmbo!!!!!!

I have to agree with OGA, for the sole fact that Cedar Point is there. However, I am in NY... so really any state can be considered superior

Obvs I agree with OGA but I've had some fun times hiking and camping and caving in PA.

@Loreen keep us updated with more! I laughed out loud at no silverware!

Lol, no we had to research and plan our weddings based on pricing and vendors, etc. I would have failed the project because my answer was that I was "shacking up" with someone and not getting married. But my parents intervened .

Actually - you're kinda right. I lived in another part of PA. I called it the armpit of America. Philly should secede from the rest of PA. Love Philly. The rest of PA can suck it.

    ETA: Sorry, TS. haha

@catlady bonus points if you incorporate a song from your original planned wedding into your actual wedding

Yeah, it was pure torture. I hated it. I would have rather written a "worst case scenario". Alas, if I wanted to take creative writing, I would have had to take it in night school
