My self esteem is lower than ever

You guys are amazing. I'm so happy that you all understand what I'm saying when none of my family did. I'm going to do what you said to do Antonia. Thank you so much for sharing that with me Mrs Johnson. I don't feel alone in my feelings. And BoozyBaker it's like you read my mind ha. That's exactly how I feel. Thank you so much.

The only person you need to be is yourself. Don't critique yourself too much, or feel like you need to fit a stereotype of a bride you saw in a magazine. You are beautiful just the way you are! *Hugs*

Can we see an engagement photo? Sometimes we need others to point out stuff we can't see ourselves.

Bownetogether I do have ADD. Part of that is having very low self esteem and the anxiety comes with it. I take medicine for it but I stopped because It just made my anxiety worse and I just couldn't take it. And thank you Cryst'l G. It helps a lot hearing that you understand.

Boozy I did choose my dress but I feel like I was pressured...I probably created my own pressure to be honest. I'm terrified of hurting someone's feelings and I had tried on about 20 dresses already and felt horrible in all of them. The dress that I decided on (THE dress) was the first one I felt pretty in. I was so excited about it I went for it. :/

The only time I though a bride looked ugly on her wedding day was her attitude. She was super negative and complained about EVERYTHING.

I know it can be hard to look at your self and with some much hype about looking perfect on your wedding day it can be very stressful. Your FH and your guest will not be be critiquing you, and they definitely wont be disappointed.

P.s. I wish I had your hair.

I completely understand how you feel. I am on the same page. I never wear dresses either and I totally get the part about not feeling like yourself in your wedding dress. I feel the same way. I thought maybe I was having dress regret but when I look at the pictures of my dress, I love it, it is me in the pictures that I don't totally love. I have good days and bad days. Mostly good days. The stress will make those feelings more apparent as well.

My suggestion is 1. talk to your photographer. Let them know about your feelings. They should have tips and tricks they will use. 2. Make sure you share this information with your FH. I do all the time and he smiles, looks at me, tells me how much he loves me, give me a big kiss and then tells me I am beautiful. All of the feelings I have just melt away.

I know it is hard but you must remember this. Your wedding day is about you and the man/woman you love saying you will love each other for ever. It is after all just one day at the end of which you will be married. You will not remember what you looked like, what the cake tasted like or anything else other than how you felt when you said those two words "I do"

Don't let the mean comments of others affect you. I've felt the same way, I have braces and they are going to be on for my wedding and there's nothing I can do about it. You just have to realize that you're the bride, and no one looks better than the bride on her wedding day. I wish I had super curly hair, I think its beautiful!

You look gorgeous! You've got all "in your own head". I know it's easier said than done when someone says "you shouldn't feel that way"...but honestly, you look fantastic. And if that weren't my honest opinion I wouldn't be rude, I just wouldn't comment. I hope that worry leaves you soon. You look great and I bet when you see your hubbys face light up you will feel like a model.

Holy cow that dress is perfect! Honest to God the thing that popped into my head was "She looks like an angel!" I think number 5 is my favorite, I just love the way you're posing and how the photographer shot it.

Thank you all so much. I'm going to take in all of your suggestions. I just have to find a way to feel like a bride. My biggest fear is looking back on my wedding day and feeling nothing but regret and sadness because I spent the whole day feeling sorry for myself or feeling unattractive and wanting to hide away from the world.

You definitely have some negative thought blinders on because you look beautiful! And screw whoever told you to straighten your hair - your curls catch the light in an amazingly gorgeous way that my straight hair totally would not!
