My officiant tossed me for another wedding!

I found out today that although my officiant had me scheduled for May 9, he tossed me aside for a wedding that had to be rescheduled due to the pandemic. His excuse: Because I have to do another wedding. He told me he would ask a friend to do it. Am I right to be offended? We chose and scheduled him. Shouldn’t our reservation come first? What do you think?

Yes I would consider that offensive especially if you already had your date reserved before the other couple rescheduled. Also, having to do another wedding is not an excuse. He already had your wedding to do. Sorry you’re going through this.

That wasn't right! I would definitely feel offended because you had that date locked in first! He should have told the person who rescheduled that he can't do it because the date was already booked. I hope everything works out for you.

I agree with PP's, that's completely unacceptable. Any wedding he reschedules should be based off of his existing bookings. I second what Mary said, be sure to let future brides know how unprofessional this guy is.

Oh you have every right to be angry! He should've told the other couple he already had a wedding, not the other way around! He's so unprofessional.

That is absolutely unacceptable. It’s important to be accommodating to other brides but that does not come at the expense of your existing clients. That is inexcusable and at this point I would be finding someone else and asking for my money back. Your feelings are totally valid!
