My mom said it doesn't look like a wedding dress???

I found this new style at David's Bridal and loved how it fit on my body (after trying about 14 dresses) and the simplicity of it. My mom thinks it doesn't look like a wedding dress, though. I bought it because it doesn't look like every other wedding dress you see and I'm going to add some sparkle...

I found this new style at David's Bridal and loved how it fit on my body (after trying about 14 dresses) and the simplicity of it. My mom thinks it doesn't look like a wedding dress, though. I bought it because it doesn't look like every other wedding dress you see and I'm going to add some sparkle with jewelry and a hair clip, but for some reason I feel unsettled...

What do you think? Does it look like a bridal gown or is my mom just in another time zone (mind you, she's the one who wanted me to be all sparkly and cinderella-esque, which is the complete opposite of who I am)...

    That is a classic beautiful wedding dress, you look stunning in it. Seriously if I saw a person wear that dress to any event, other than a wedding, I would wonder why they were wearing a wedding dress.

    Ok, my evil mind suggests this plan:

    1. Tell Mom you have realized that the dress does not look "bridal" enough, and are therefore getting married the "traditional" way--with both of you nude, as in the Garden of Eden.

    2. When Mom comes around, allow her to talk you into wearing that dress instead. ;-)

    I think that dress was made for you. You glow in that dress! And yes it is a wedding dress and to be honest only certain women can pull that dress off without looking swallowed and honey you are that girl! You look amazing! I say that dress is a keeper!

    I think it looks beautiful on you and you do look like a Bride. Honestly if you want something more breathable, that style will do it for you, not a ball gown that weighs 20-30 lbs. and having to add that uncomfortable crinoline skirt underneath to make it more poofy. If that's more you, it's your day. Wear whatever you're going to feel the most comfortable in.

    I agree with Sara and others that it definitely looks like a wedding dress. I am sorry that your mom said that and thinks like that. In all you are the one that has to wear it and be comfortable in it. Either way you look stunning in that dress!

    It's a beautiful, elegant wedding dress! Totally! Looks gorgeous on you; just add a sparkling brooch where the ornament is - which will add just the "right touch": a touch of sparkle!

    I think you look gorgeous & if you love it and you know this it the dress DO NOT let her put a hint of doubt in your mind, afterall, it is YOUR day and YOUR dress so get something you love & feel great in! Smiley smile

    Well of course it's not a gown! It'd have to be huge to be classified as a "gown" But it is MOST DEF a beautiful wedding dress. With your hair makeup veil gorgeous jewelry and husband, not one person will doubt who the bride is Smiley smile
