My Fiance won't pick his groomsmen! Help!!

Soon 2B Mrs. C, on January 19, 2010 at 1:08 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

Our wedding is June 5th...time is a tickin! My fiance still has not asked his groomsmen to be in the wedding! What's the delay...well...he already knows who they are. He's already asked his bestman and my brothers...he is stalling on asking his nephews and 2 other buddies! ugh! Help! What do I do? I've already asked him nicely several times! I need to get our programs done, and I need a true head count for the wedding coordinator and rehearsal dinner reservations!

Oh man! My FH was the same way! I had to beg and nag him to actually ask his groomsmen, and then he took FOREVER to choose the last one. He finally asked his 4th this week. I shudder to think what it will be like when I tell him they all need to get fitted for a tux!!

    good grief! I feel ya!

Mine did the same thing! He finally asked them a little shy of 4 months before. He didn't even really ask his brother to be the BM, he saw the program with his name on.

I nagged at him until he did it. He in return called me a bridezilla because I wouldn't leave him alone. But, all my nagging got the job done.

Why can't men just be easy to get deal with in this?

Mine was the same way. I finally got really mad and brought over a piece of paper and said look we are figuring this out right now because it isn't fair to ask people a few months before the wedding because they may need time to save for the tuxes, bachelor party and what not. Once I told him that he saw that he was being unfair to his friends and he chose right then.

My FH is doing the same thing. I say you can tell his friends he has something to ask and maybe he will when they talk to him. Or just keep nagging him until he finally does it.

We are getting married june 5th as well and FH just spoke to his brothers about being BM last week. they knew about the wedding and i don't know if he assumed they knew they'd be in the wedding? FSIL texted me last week asking if her hubby was supposed to be in the wedding b/c he didn't know. ok i refuse to handle that. so i simply told FH he needs to talk to his brothers and FSIL txt me later saying that FH had just texted his brother. really?? you TEXT your brother about being in the wedding? ok. not my issue.

Thanks for everyone's advice! I finally just sat him down and (like Jaime J. commented) and said it's not fair to let people know at the last minute. He agreed, and said he's going to ask them this weekend and needed my "creative side" to help him think of a fun way. Soooooo....he went out and bought some beers, and I made "groomsman labels"...we're going to meet them at a bar tomorrow to watch football, and he's going to give them all the "special groomsman beers"!! Can't wait! I will try to post the finished product on my page! Check it out! They turned out so awesome!
