As the title says, my fiancé just simply hates wedding dresses. He finds them ugly and a show-off, especially if they touch the floor. He claims it is a silly tradition that derives from aristocracy trying to show that they have enough money to have their dresses dragged on the floor. Long white dresses are just bound to get dirty. It's a waste of money, of cleaning the dress, as well as very impractical, so someone wearing them suggests vanity. He calls them "peacock dresses".
He says I would look much better in a colored summer dress (my skin is very white to look good in white), than in something so expensive and wasteful. I do see his point - however, it was a childhood dream of mine to wear a long dress where I can feel beautiful and like a princess (I guess most of you understand that). At first, I thought I wanted a Disney-like dress, but now looking at many I found that I prefer straight dresses with tulle layers - which is another problem as we just found out that my fiancé prefers the shiny material ones, if any. The simpler, the better.
He tells me to choose whatever I want, but I would like to stun him on the day. I don't know what should I do?
