I don't think there is anything else you can do. You can't literally force him to wear a tux (I know you know this). If this is a dealbreaker for you, then you can tell him you won't have him walk you down the aisle unless he wears what you want. Or you can accept his idiosyncrasy (and his money ) and focus on other areas of planning.

You could make suggestions and stuff but yea like pp said you can't make him wear something.

the other thing i could think is if you bought him something and asked if he could wear it for you.

Just tell him he'll be the only one dressed that way and let it go. Maybe he'll surprise you

Could you suggest wearing a jacket just for the ceremony and possibly pictures? If he still doesn't want to then you will just have to move on. While I do believe that adults should always dress themselves, they also have the responsibility to dress appropriately. You wouldn't wear a ball gown to a football game nor cutoffs and bikini top to the Opera (though I have seen this at a wedding 😞).

Don't worry about other people's opinions when it comes to things that do not effect them in anyway. Try not to fret about what he is wearing.
